I would call your insurance company & ask them BC & BS if they dont pay for it they dont cover complications. Usually complications from PS if not covered by your insurance are not covered and if the work is done out of the country it is definelty not  covered. dont go by someone elses words check with your own ins co. if your PCP tells you it is covered & your Ins. Co, denies it, it is not his fault you r still responsible. I had a  lot of PS and luckily no complications that I had to be hospitalized for
I would pay the 250.oo from your PS

Good Luck

Susan is right. My BC-BS policy explicitly excludes coverage for any thing related to plastics. This is the norm for policies. Perhaps yours is different, you'll want to verify directly with your insurance. The CosmedAssure insurance is cheap insurance for the first 30 days. I've been trying to weigh the exposure for after 30 days. Bearmom's hospitalization post 30 days is the kind of thing that really scares. As much as I want plastics, I dont' want to risk financial ruin over it.

I have no personal knowledge of these products (haven't gotten to the PS stage yet), but it does appear that medical complications coverage designed for medical tourists is available:

Hope this helps.
