I wanted to add to this post in case someone searched for Dr.Sholar on this site. I had a bra line back lift, brachioplasty and breast lift with Dr.Sholar in January 2012. I had a horrible experience. My back incision spread and left a 3x4in crater in my back, my breast lift looked awful with my nipples pointing down and the right breast was flat and wide. My brachioplasty scars were down the back of my arms and I developed an infection that wasn't treated appropriately. I had several areas of necrosis and it took 8 months for my last incision to close. I was left with horrible scars down the back of my arms from separation of the incision. I felt she never explained anything that was going on, and even sent me home without seeing the infection to discover these huge holes in my arms on my own. When I later asked about a revision, she said she didn't think I had enough skin left to fix the scars. I was devastated and very depressed. With the encouragement of my family, I then contacted another doctor who was able to repair the large crater in my back and also did a complete lower body lift with medial thigh lift. The surgery went great, I had no healing problems, and all my incisions were closed by about 3 weeks. I then went back in with the same doctor to have my arms and breasts revised. He was able to fix my breast lift so that they are beautiful and symmetrical now. He also redid the brachioplasty and was able to move the scars in to the side more, but still not where they should have been. Again, I had no problems healing and everything looks great. When I requested a copy of my chart from Dr. Sholars office it took over 30 days to get it and when I read the chart it was not accurate in my opinion. Not only were there many things that were inaccurate about my care recorded in my chart there were also some inappropriate comments about me. When I called to speak with her about getting $3500 dollars back of the $11000 I paid her to cover just part of the $10,000 I had to pay another surgeon to have all the surgeries done over, she wouldn't return my call or agree to meet with me to discuss my concerns. Also, I became aware that she is being sued by 8 other patients for botched breast jobs. Just Google Dr. Sholar Evansville and the reports will come up. Before I started having problems, I even referred a friend to her that paid $10,000 for breast augmentation. She also had a horrible experience. One of her breasts kept opening up and she was restitched over a dozen times. It took 11 months for her incision to finally close. I was never able to recover any of the money I paid her and I have not yet filed a lawsuit, but am still considering it. However, I'm not sure I want to give this woman any more of my time of energy even if it means losing the money. In my opinion she should not be allowed to continue to practice. RUN AWAY! I will post pictures of my results very soon.
