NEVER!!! So one day short of 6 weeks and the last drain is finally out!!! I'm still a little stressed that I'll get a seroma, but he said he'd never had a patient with one in as long as I had. There's a nice title to own. Why couldn't I have been the only patient he'd ever done the surgery on for free!

YAY ME!!

Denise

Wow, I did not realize you were approaching your 6th week and still had a drain. Were you able to shower.

Was I supposed to shower? No. Did I shower? Yes. I just could not take it. There was someone on this board (can't remember who) that was instructed to shower daily with the drains. I figured there must be something safe about it, so I braved it. Luckily I didn't have any ill effects. I wouldn't recommend it though. It just doesn't make sense to me how surgeons, both plastic and weight loss, are so different in their approaches. It's like religion, I have to believe someone is wrong!! LOL!

That was prolly me...

I was instructed to get up and shower the next day after my surgery and daily after that.

Hung my drains from Mardi Gras beads and went for it!

I've been rocking the Mardi Gras beads too! I've been using the green one my kids don't play with. Now I actually have "girls" that might garner some beads should they be shown in N'awlins!!

ooooh...listen to you!

Color me jealous.

If I flashed mine in their current state, people would probably throw things at me in an attempt to make me go away!

When I had four drains in, my surgeon told me not to shower.  Since I only have the one left, he gave me some clear plastic bandages to put over it when I shower to keep the water off it.  They work really well.
