Implants

I'm thinking about implants when I get my breast lift in December.  It hadn't occured to me until recently to think about it, but I like the idea of the fullness they provide.  Dr. Sauceda uses Gummy Bear Implants and from what I've seen, they are generally over the muscle.

I'm 61 and have never had perky breasts in my life!  I started pre-op in a tight 42DD.  It should have been triple DDD or freakin X but I crammed the girls in there.  Nordstrom fitted me several months ago into a 34DDD or F or G.  Whatever, BIG!  The girls are starting to leave and that bra is really starting to gap.  Kind of the girls to stay this long.  :)

I measure 29 inches under my breasts and have a 30 inch waist. Hopefully my waist will be smaller after my LBL.  I'm trying to figure out what size implants might be appropriate for me.  I'd love to end up a Full C or D.

Can you all chime in about the size of your implants and give me an idea of your body size and what looks appropriate?  I'm curently in M tops only because my arms insist.  I'm wearing a loose 10P in pants right now.  I can squeeze into some 8's by my tushie and saddlebags really prevent smaller pants.  The legs are loose but I need the 10's to crawl over my butt and stomach.

Suggestions?  Pictures?  Advice?  Did you get the size you wanted and are you still happy?  Things I should consider?  I understand that Dr. S will have a lot of opinions when I get there in December but I wanted to ask here because I learn so much!

Hi Lee! You might want to chek out justbreastimplants.com. They have a ton of great information on type/size/placement, etc. of implants. One thing I have learned in my research is that the decision about what size implant has very much to do with your breast width diameter/rib cage size. I'd think if you had a free consult with a surgeon here they could give you an accurate breast width diameter then there are charts on that website that will tell you what an appropriate size implant for your frame/bwd is. For myself, I had very wide spaced breasts and rather large breast width diameter. What that meant is that he could not do an implant much smaller than what he did or I'd have had that oranges on a board look with the risk of an even wider gap between the implants. They do not deal in cup size as much as they do cc's. The profile of the implant matters too because that will determine whether you get more side boob and cleavage or more projection. You can tweak the final outcome by choosing different projections and adding cc's as well as choosing under or over the muscle. You can also find lots of women with similar stats as you (height/weight/breast width).

I wound up with 575cc under the muscle Mentor silicone implantsll read about "side boobs". I didn't like them at first, but now that the one is not in my arm pit as much, it really adds to the hour glass look. I like that if I'm in certain clothes I really don't look all that different but yesterday they looked huge because I wore a form fitting compression tank with a sweater over it. Let's just say that when the sweater came off, I learned that I no longer had a head because not one man that passed me ever looked up past my neck!! LOL!

I've read a lot about being sure to take lots of pictures of what you'd like to look like. Keep an open mind because like I said, I'd have NEVER chosen a 575cc, but am glad now that he went with that size. The other thing to consider is that it is said that the most frequent reason for a revision is that women wished they'd gone larger.

Good luck!!

Denise

Lee,

I brought a bra that I wanted to fill out to assist in the mark up.  I put it on and Dr. S said a high profile smaller size implant should give me the fullness I wanted. He did all his measurements and said it would probably be about a 300 cc implant.   Later that evening I remembered he has sizers to try on to help determine the size too, but we didn't do that.  I must of been worried about getting the perfect size as the first words out of my mouth were "full C"?  He ended up using 325 cc high profile gummy  bears.  I have the certificate that I can transfer the lifetime warranty to US for a fee.

I could not be happier with the size and look.  I'm a full C pushing a D depending on the bra.  But now that the swelling has gone down and they are softer, they fill out my bra perfectly.

Hi Kathy, thanks for the reply.  May I ask how tall you are and how much you weigh?  What size bra did you take with you?  I would love to be a full C, pushing a D!!

I'm 5'3" and am about 145 and brought a 36 C with me.  I've been wearing sports bra's for over a year because they gave my tubesocks some fullness!

Kathy, we're about the same.  I'm 5'4 and about 148 now.  I don't have tube sox, I still have quite a bit going on in the breast area but they haven't been perky since I was 12 so I don't even know what that would look like.

Do you know what High Profile Gummy Bears means?  Are there also low profile?  Does Dr. S only use the High Profile?

 Lee,
I'm 5'6 and weigh around 145.  I was very small breasted after losing weight (see pics).  I got 400cc silicone implants put under muscle, and am a 34DD.  I have moderate high profile implants, that might also make a difference.  At first I thougtht they were too big, but now I like them.

I have been told that when you put them under muscle you need to go a little larger to have the same effect as when they go over muscle.

Thanks Joanne,  I think Dr. S does over the muscle.  This is good information.  I feel like the more info I get the better able I'll be to discuss with Dr. S.

Hi Joanne, can you please tell me more about the "moderate high profile"?  What does that mean?
