please help!
I am so confused and don't know where to turn. I am loosing my insurance by Feb. of next year so I would like to have PS before i change insurances, in hopes to a majority of it being covered.
I have lost a little under 200lbs in a year and 4 months and have significant skin and my breasts hang to the floor, and with being 27, I would like to feel my age! lol
I had my first consult with a plastic surgeon and she says i would be the off by going with an anchor style abdominoplasty and a breast lift. She said insurance more than likely would cover the anestesiologist and the facility and assistant fees, only because I have a hernia that she could bill them for those things. But she didnt even have ideas of how we could work out lowering the cost from $13,000 which is my portion after insurance paying $6,000, and that's with a $2,000 discount for having multiple procedureS.
The more I logically think about it I feel like this is a crazy high price and feel like although she says she specializes in Bariatric, why woudnt she be more helpful and educated in how to get the insurance to cover more?
I have massive pain that has been documented from multiple doctors due to my skin, so I know I could appeal and possibly win.
Should I find a new doctor or is this how hard it really is?
p.s. I am in AZ and need names of surgeons!
Thanks so much Jena

Call your insurance company up and ask if they will cover it...make sure you let them know it's reconstructive work and not cosmetic surgery. Let them know about your rashes and your treatments and my doctor sent in pics of me while I had the rashes. My insurance company paid 100%. You can also get a letter from your primary care physician stating your visits and treatments. Good Luck, don't give up..I didnt think my insurance was going to cover it but my doctor knew from the start that they would...go get another consult, sometimes it is good to get several opinions and pick the one your the most comfortable with.
