Implant regrets?

So, I'm hoping I'll be getting plastic surgery in the winter of 2012-2013.  Initially, I thought no way to implants, but as I've been looking at pictures, I'm starting to think maybe I should consider them.  I'm curious if any of you have opted not to have the implants during a breast lift & now wish you had gotten them?  Or did you get them and wish you hadn't?  Did the surgeon make a recommendation as to if you neede them or not?  Any advice is appreciated.

I'm in the same boat.  I never really thought I would be interested in getting implants, but the closer I get to my consult, the more I am considering them.  I'm even starting to think they may be "necessary."  I'm 9 days out from a LBL, and planning on doing upper body work in about 6-12 months.

I'll be watching for any advice you're given as well!

I never thought I would get them either, but when I went in for my consult and realized how LITTLE I would be left with after the skin removal, I opted to go with a natural looking implant.  That was over 5 years ago and I haven't regretted it at all.  I know others probably have different experiences, but for me, I figured if I was going to have the surgery for the skin removal, I didn't want to be left with really tiny ones...so while the surgeon was in there, had him take care of it.

I wish you luck with your decision.  My surgeon was really honest with me about what size I would likely be afterwards, which helped me make my decision.  If I was going to look 'natural' afterwards, I probably would have opted out of the implants, but it was a good decision for me.

Thanks,
Erika

I'm probabaly not the best to answer because I'm only 2-1/2 weeks out from my LBL and BL with implants, but I originally never thought I wanted them either. It wasn't until my consults that the issue of implants came up. With the lift only, I was going to be left with a flat upper chest with just some fullness at the bottom. Not what I wanted. So I went ahead with implants. At first I hated them. Thought they were way too big. They are settling down now and I have to say they are growing on me. I think they are going to balance me out perfectly. I think I would have regretted not getting them because if I originally thought they were too large and now they are going to balance me out well, I can only imagine no implant would have left me feeling very small up top.

Good luck with your decision. I'm sure the surgeons can help.  Also, there is a website, justbreastimplants.com, that has a ton of forums that can help you decide and even some 3D imaging thing you can do to see what you'd look like with implants.

Take care!

Denise

A surgeon can advise when he sees you.

I have enough fat left that he will be able to make a decent C.

It will work for me because I don't want implants. I simply don't like the look of them.

Very much up to the individual body type, amount of breast tissue you are starting with, and the look you are hoping for.

I NEVER thought I would be getting implants, but 3 weeks from today, I'll be getting them!  My surgeon was very honest about what my chest would look like without them after the breast lift.  I didn't like the look of any of the pictures I saw at all of breast lifts with out implants.  I am 47 and not planning on a second career as a ploe dance or anything.  We have agreed on a size to balance my frame and give my a little cleavage.  I am going to have to trust her artistry.  I am actually getting kind of excited about them.  Good luck in your decision.  The more pictures you can look at the better.

I got them.  Love them.. No regrets.  Dr made suggestions on what size I should get to match my body frame.  I was getting them no matter what.

I'm like all the others.  I did not want them either.  Just interested in BL.  However, after going to my consult and she took the time to thoroughly explain to me how I would look with them and without them, I opted to go for them.  Good thing as if I had the BL only, I for one, would have been VERY small - I had more skin then breast tissue, and two, I would have been considerable lopsided.  And I wanted to get it done at once and not have to have surgery again.  I am 3-1/2 weeks post op of TT, pani, BL, implants, & hernia repair and so far I have no regrets!

Good luck on your decision.

I have always had large breast DD to DDD.  I had lost 80 lbs and the girls are still there or should I say down there. I am schedule in december for a lift and then I have the option to go back 2 mos later for the implants.  my doctor prefers to do the sx separate so the nipple can heal with implant pressure. it will also allow me to decide and then decide on the size.   I can't wait.

What do I want for xmas and my birthday.....NEWW BOOBIES.....LIKE WHEN I WAS 17.

I'll probably be a full B without implants after a lift. Doc said to let all that heal, then do an implant, if I want one then.  Since I'm so tall, I'll probably get them.
