2 weeks today since my surgery....still have pain but the hardest thing for me is when I am home alone,  (9 HOURS)  Just can not find a good spot to get comfy and getting back up.   I do good on my recliner but need someone to get me in and out,  Any tips?

Also, how long till the stiches come out and the sterile tips come off?

All my sterile strips were off at 3 weeks, I still have some stitches at 5 weeks. I had a walker available to me but didn't need it to get up and down from chair, maybe someone can borrow you one or maybe a cane. The hard part seems to be getting up once I got going I was fine.

Hope your recovery is going well,

Have you tried a bed or couch with lots of pillows? Or a foam wedge you can get at places like Bed Bath and Beyond? I was grateful I had my mom's adjustable bed for the first month. I had problems with the recliner for a long time and never used it unless someone was home to help me in and out of it.

I mostly sat in my big computer chair.  I did have to get a couple of pillows to make it softer.  I didn't use a recliner and was in my waterbed at 2 weeks out.  I had the LBL, BL, arms and medial thigh lift.  I did have to be careful how far I spread my legs, so it was mostly butt on bed, scoot back and bring both legs up at the same time, same with getting off the bed, roll to the side, move both legs over and roll up.  I was up and walking at least every hour when I was awake.  Either to the kitchen to get food, or a quick walk outside.

After my hernia surgery, I had to think out of the box.  I brought in one of my patio chair that was a little higher than my inside chairs and added a cushion and a couple of pillows.  Then I added a  plastic storage container with a pillow on top as a place to prop up my feet.

Also DH added a rope to our futon so I could pull my self upright.  It was a big help

A rope on the end of the bed... that is a seriously good idea. I'm going to tuck that away in my brain for later use.

I was most comfortable on the couch or in my bed with 5 pillows - 3 under my head / back and two under my legs.  When I got ready to get up, I'd just slide the ones out from under my legs and I was bascially already in an upright position.  I was surprised how well I was able to sleep like that too!

Here's another suggestion for ya. I hope I can explain it well.
I got an armless chair and put it at the end of the bed matress.  I would but my upper body (head to butt on the matress and the calves of my legs on the chair.  Then to stand up I could just swing my legs off the chair and stand in the space between the chair and the bed.  Amazingly, I was able to get some good sleep that way.  I think I had a pillow on the chair.  You may have to experiment a little to get the right spacing between the chair and the bed.
