I kept things close to me...lip balm, water, peanut butter crackers, pain meds.

I cooked for my family ahead of time.

I had no appetite for a week or two so I bought RTD pro drinks and some bars.

I was able to shower right away. Used mardi gras beads to hold my drains.

I did not require anyone to care for me. I was up and at'um by myself right away.
My partner stayed home from work the first week to make sure I did not keel over.

I had a raised toilet seat and a walker. Used neither.

I had a lift chair borrowed from a friend. Up and down with a remote control. Very nice for watching TV but I slept in my bed with a wedge pillow and pillows under the knees as my surgeon wanted me flexed (both in and out of bed) for a week.

Bought mens boxers and wife beaters to wear. JPs made panties impossible. Mostly was commando but to leave the house I wore the boxers. I wore the wife beaters under my binder.

I slept alot the first week. After that, ditched the pain meds, switched to tylenol so I could drive myself to Starbucks.

Well, I'm with everyone else and not get a raised toilet seat but I did buy a shower seat. I felt lightheaded quickly so my aunt went and got me one. I also am with everyone else about the Miralax or M.O.M. With the opiates, it hurts to pass OMG. Good luck! Oh, and if you need to keep incisions covered, it varies it seems doc to doc, maxi pads work just as well as gauze.
