Weepy belly button

I've got some weepy looking flesh in my new belly button. I've cleaned it and applied some ointment and some gauze, but wanted to know if in your experiences this area tends to be an area that is susceptible to getting weepy. I'm also getting a little red at my drain sites, but they sit right in my groin crease so I'm guessing they are likely in a spot that leaves them susceptible.  I see my doc on Monday, but figured I'd pick your brains in the meantime.
