Tummy tuck - was it worth it?
I'm 45 and hell yeah, it was worth it. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I also look the same in clothes, but mentally feel soooooo much better about myself. My boyfriend tried to talk me out of it. He loves me regardless of the floppy skin and did not see the point. Now that he sees how much better it makes me feel, he is so happy I did it for ME.
Just do it!!

I'm 4 months post op from fleur de lis abdominoplasty and brachioplasty - I'm 62.
It was worth it. The first couple weeks were "tough" and I did have a complication (tissue necrosis). I don't think I will have any more plastic surgery - although my thighs and butt have alot of hanging skin - but I can cover that up with good fitting pants.
Recovery has been difficult - I think because of age, complication and poor skin condition from years of being morbidly obese.
Up your protein before surgery for a month (I got 130 gm protein a day) and keep it up for several months after. Make sure your labs are good and you are taking all your supplements.
Be at your goal weight for 6 months pre-op for best results and stay at your goal weight (no more than 10 pounds over) to retain plastic surgery optimum results.
Best wishes. I have before and after pics - just click on my avitar picture or name. There are also pics of my "open wound" that are nasty - just don't open them if you don't want to.
