Sorry need to vent as this last couple weeks have been rough with poppin a stitch on my waist that's still healing, that little pulmonary embolism thing, 3 drains still going at it like it's a freakin contest, one of the staples holding my drains in decided to start poking me today. Then today as I was putting on a compression shirt I had bought (previously wore 2XL now wear a large) I was not careful enough and peeled back one of my nipples a little bit and it started leaking. GGGRRRRRRR!!!!! I go in tomorrow for a follow-up so I just let it go today no blood, smell, not running tempature so I doubt I have an infection.

Sorry just had to rant to feel better. On the plus side did take a nice 1/2 hour walk with the little dog she is easy to handle, but when I got back the big one let me know about his feelings on the situation as he is now not talking to me. I would walk him but he is younger and 65 lbs not ready to tackle this just yet.

I nap now,
Bubba

 Bubba,

So sorry to hear that you are having such a rough time with your recovery. Unforseen complications are the pits. I'm sure things will turn out well eventually, so hang in there. Feel better soon...

I just wanted to say I'm sorry you are having such trouble. These kinds of stories are the ones that gave me pause prior to my surgery, but everyone says we'll be just thrilled in a few months, so I'm hanging on for that!!

Hope you are feeling great soon!!

Take care!

Denise

Bubba,

I feel so bad for every thing you are going through.  the nipple thing really got to me.  Hope things only get better from here.  Sending you only GOOD thoughts.

Thanks, the grass looks a little greener today after a good nights sleep and some encouraging words from you guys. Ithink at this point ion the game getting back to some sort of normalcy would help like going back to work or gettin out the house a little besides a doctor appointment.

Thanks a bunch

Sorry to hear you're having problems Bubba!  How does Dr. Montag handle these issues?  Is she charging you extra for any of this?  I haven't had any problems (yet) but am curious as to how she handles the financial end of things.

When did you get the emoblism?  That's one thing that really scares me.  We just got back from a trip to Illinois and I wore my TED hose "just in case" but they came off as soon as I got home.

Hope all of these things are resolved soon and at no extra cost to you - other than the frustration, which I totally understand!

I got the embolism a little over two weeks ago and spent a week in the hospital. Montag or someone from her office stopped by everyday to see how I was doing in the hospital. I paid upfront for my procedure as it was not covered by insurance, and I have had about 4 visits to her office since my surgery but I believe that is figured in ahead of time when you pay.

I have good insurance and the whole embolism is covered so no worries there. I was wearing my hose at the time this happened and I was hydrated sleeping with feet elevated getting up walking around and it still happened. I look at it like this, number 1 I am alive number 2 still kicking etc. I know there are additional things that can be done when you have surgery to help prevent this sort of thing or doctors can order drugs what have you. I will have a couple more doctor bills big whoop I don't look to assign blame or say so and so should have to pay this. Life is to short (almost shorter in my case)  for that I am trying to move forward from this.

Montag and her staff have treated me well that is all I ever wanted out of this whole deal. I just want this last drain to come out and get a SHOWER and get back to work, a little normalcy would be good.

Thanks
Bubba

Good to hear all of this Bubba.  You had more surgery than I and my drains came out last Friday.  I did wear my TED hose while traveling over the weekend.  I'm walking 1/2 - 3/4 of a mile 3-5 times a day now too.

I'm glad to hear that insurance is paying for the embolism hospitalization.  I was wondering if insurance would deny something related to an elective surgery and kind of worried about that.  It didn't stop me from having the surgery though.

Montag's staff does seem very attentive.  I go again Friday to get stitches removed.  Can't wait till those come out!

Take care!
