Your arms look awesome, were you self pay and if so if you don't mind what was the cost, would love to have this done cus if I could catch the right wind I would be able to fly around the world with the wings (as I call them)   I'm looking in to Mexico as the quote I was told was between 5-8 thousand depending on the skin amount. and is it as painfull as Iv'e heard? And what is recovery time? All answers would be great.
I paid $5,000 in Omaha.  I can't say I experienced pain.  A little discomfort in the beginning when I couldn't use my arms.  Bathroom hygiene was hard! LOL  Couldn't brush my hair, hard to get dressed, etc.  But oh, so worth it!

My bat wings hung down 8 1/2 inches!  They were horrid.  We could have taken flight together and seen the world froma bird's eye view!

I still have numbness, which is normal.  In fact, the information she gave me said that I may always have some numbness.  When she removed stitches, I couldn't feel a thing, so the numbness was a good thing then.

I still have a spot by my left elbow that is slightly swollen and red.  I'm beginning to think that it's permanent, but even so, I'm very happy with the outcome.

Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Good to meet you Wonda, thanks for the fast reply, you said Omaha would that be Nabraska? I would want a Dr. that has been used, not just some fly by night. I've seen her work and love what she has done for you, I am from New Jersey I went to mexico for my RNY so traveling to have the best is ok. all in all how long would I have to stay in the area before they would release me to go home? What is the Dr. name and # so I could maybe call and get what details I would need to get to her. I asked the Dr. in Mexico as I stated in my last post but if I can find a DR. here in the US would be better for me. I would say I have about 4 -5 inches to be gone, it's the wrinkling down the arm thats scarry. I hate em, and I almost never use the word hate. The other thing is my thighs wrinkle wrinkle, don't like that much either,  I love wearing sleeveless tops and can't do that now. my belly isn't bad at all I can live with that as I'm 56 and don't wear midriff tops!! My boobs I just plop them in a good bra no big deal there either. I'm married so it's not like I'm out crusing for a man!!~ been married for 35 yrs and if something happens. I won't have another man! LOL! It will be all about ME!! Thank you so much for all the info and hope to hear from you again.

This is the website of the center I used:   http://www.surgicalimages.com/plastic-surgery/
I had Dr. Montag.  They can answer your questions as to how long to stay in the area.  I had to go back weekly for several weeks, so I'm not sure what they would ask of you.  Worth a shot in asking, though.

My surgery was outpatient, but we stayed in Omaha over night and returned to the doctor the next morning.  I live a couple of hours from Omaha (yes, Nebraska).

Do you attend any WLS support group meetings in your area?  If so, I would ask at the meeting if anyone has had plastics in your area.  You could ask the person who leads the meeting to ask for you.  Also, your surgeon might have a place they would refer you to, or lead you to someone who has had plastics who you could talk to.

I know Mexico is cheaper, but follow-up has always been a concern of mine with going there.  I know several people here on OH have gone there and are very happy with the outcome.

Like you, my stomach isn't too bad.  My legs look like a melting candle, but I can cover them.  The arms were more exposed to the public and I was bothered by them.  I probably won't have any other work done.

Again Thank You, I will call there office and find out what I would need to do. as far as a group no I don't attend any of those. New Jersey has the highest cost for just about every thing, let alone a surgery! To money hungry in this state!! my arms will be the only thing I would have surgery on. your help has been great
. I wish you and yours The Merriest Christmas have a Happy and Safe New Year.

Wanda, wow, you must be thrilled!!!  Your arms look great.  Did your surgeon place the scars more to the back (I can't tell from the picture, I know there's different kinds of placement....)
