Brachioplasty with pictures

These "after pictures" are 3 days out.  It has been about a week and a half now.  I didn't need pain meds except the day of surgery then one dose the following morning.  I've taken extra strength Tylenol once  a day since at bedtime, because the tingling of healing has started and the Tylenol helps relief that sensation somewhat and I sleep better.  The drains were in for a week.  I did have some swelling the 4th day out, but that resolved by re-wrapping further down on my arm.  The swelling was in my lower arms and hands.  Still sleeping in the recliner with them elevated.  I decided yesterday to try to take a walk.  Up until the day of surgery (9/12) I waked 1.5 miles daily.  6 blocks yesterday was just about more than I could take.  So today, I walked 6 blocks 5 times...waiting about 2 hours inbetween.  I feel so much stronger having done this.

I'm going to love my arms - almost as much as I love my "Sleevie Wonder".  Surgeon said the total weight of the 2 wings was a pound.  I thought it would be about half that, so was surprised.

Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Wow!! Your surgeon did a fabulous job!! Your arms are so tiny. Too many after's I've seen still look big to me, but definitely not yours. Good for you!!

They look even better now.  I was kind of wondering how they would look, because the top part of my arms was so small it was hard to wrap my mind around how they would look.

Beautiful!  I just had my 2 weeks ago, but the doctor has the scar under my arm pit.  I'm still a little swollen and still wearing compression garment.  I really love my arm now.

I'm still wearing compression garments too.  Probably another week or two.  Still have a little swelling, but not much.  You can see the swelling in the pictures.  Most of mine was the lower arm and hand.

Your arms look incredible! They're so slim now. You must be so thrilled. Happy healing, and don't push yourself too hard. :)

Thanks for posting pics, we dont' get many brachio pics here and surgeons don't like to show pictures from the front on their websites (they don't like to show the scar, so they only show arms from the back, or carefully positioned so the scar is on the bottom at the picture angle). It'd be great to see more pictures as you heal. I'm planning on brachioplasty next year, hopefully. Can I ask where you had yours done and by whom? Yes I agree with others, I've seen a lot of brachioplasties where the arm still looked too big afterwards, but yours are very slim looking. You must be so happy! Thanks a lot for sharing, it's very helpful.

Thanks Lizzy.  I looked this morning and you can see the scar slightly from the back, but not too much.  I really thought I would be able to see it from the front, but I can't.  I'm very pleased with how she placed the incision.

I had it done in Omaha.  Marie Montag.

I'll post more pictures after the stitches come out.

Your arms look awesome, were you self pay and if so if you don't mind what was the cost, would love to have this done cus if I could catch the right wind I would be able to fly around the world with the wings (as I call them)   I'm looking in to Mexico as the quote I was told was between 5-8 thousand depending on the skin amount. and is it as painfull as Iv'e heard? And what is recovery time? All answers would be great.

i actually had them done twice due to the amount of skin i had. the first time was completely painless... i didnt even use ibuprophen. The second time was a bit more uncomfortable, but it was just that...uncomfortable. No pain, just annoying.... youll do fine...

God Bless..pay it foward..Christine
