Not sure what to expect, its my first consult.  He is supposed to have experience with bariatric patients.  He's w/ UTSW, not a resident.

Any suggestions folks?

Jeff's a great guy! (I was his medical student ~ 15 years ago)

He is one of the most experienced and influential post bariatric surgeons in the world. A lot of the techniques that have been widely adopted came from Dr Kenkel and his associates at UTSW.

You're in very good hands.

You will be VERY happy with Dr Kenkel!
I am having a LBL on 9/29 with the Residency program at UTSW. Dr Kenkel will be in the operating room with my Dr Lee.

How do the costs of the residency program compare with his own costs?

I've applied to the residency program and we'll see if its approved.

He seemed very nice and very capable, but also very expensive.

Also, a tad leery of anyone who calls me "skinny" and "thin"

I went for a consult w/Dr. Kenkel, he has a very good reputation & oversees the residents @ UTSW.  I decided to go w/Baylor Residency program because of the costs.  Dr. Kenkel was the most expensive surgeon that I got a quote from.  Good Luck!
