Three 1/2 weeks out TT looks lopsided, this normal?

I know there is still some swelling at this point. Also I had previously posted I was in hospital with blood clotsand I was not able to wear binders for 8-9 days which I'm sure didn't help matters any. I still have 3 drains putting out over 40 cc's at this time as well. That being said they took off about 13 lbs on TT but the sides are not symmetrical. The stitches go back around like at extended TT but I can still grab a slab above where the incisions are the sides. Now mind you this isn't scientific but there is about 1 1/2 - 2 inches difference between the height of stitches from the floor to where the incision is on each side. It looks funny to me and it looks like I have a crooked waist line. I don't seem to have that tapered kind of v people get after surgery.

I don't want to jump the gun here and say she is a horrible surgeon, she did have another PS assist her and this guy has over 30 years experience. I go see her for a follow-up today, not sure if I should say something or just wait a while to see how much swelling goes down. At this point I am not a happy camper.

Really too early to tell.
I am 4 weeks out today.
Had 15 pounds removed.

At my 2 week visit, I had some asymmetry...I mentioned it.
My surgeon assured me it would improve.

This morning, I noticed a marked difference when I stepped out of the shower.

Overall, my swelling has improved.
Plus I am wearing a long line, firm control spanx thing night and day and that really helps with conturing during the healing.

But he did tell me pre-op...there is always a chance that there will be a need for revision.
Asymmetry was listed on my informed consent as a possible outcome.
I had a huge hanging belly.
He removed a lot of tissue. My incisions start mid butt cheek.
Plus I got a Fleur de Lis to help with the upper abd.

Mention it, see what they say.

But for me...it is improving every day.

Good luck!!

What is that called when the incisions start mid butt cheek?  Glad you are improving.

I never expected 6-pack abs or anything and I know not being able to wear the binders for a while didn't help. Considering I still have 3 drains in but my post-op care at the office has been less than stellar to this point. Feels like a normal doctors office visit, but I expect a little more considering this is what I paid for so I will keep an open mind but ask her about it today.

Glad to here yours is improving I hope mine does as well.

Thanks

I am currently having the same issues.  I'm almost four weeks out from a fleur de lis tummy tuck and i also have an incision that goes all the way around to about mid butt cheek. I had lost three hundred pounds though so she did have her work cut out for her.  That being said i am lopsided on one side too though i did have a hematoma on that side the second week out and had to have a drain re-inserted to drain it.  I guess with so much skin around and this my first step in plastic surgery i'm not sure what to expect the hips seem a little more poofy but it's almost like she had to go so far around i don't know how she could attain symmetry without doing an LBL.  Like i said though i don't know enough about what i will need done to know.  Plus financially i don't know if i will ever be able to afford anymore plastic surgery.  I too have switched to a spanx type garment but it seems to compress be better and in a more normal way and i noticed more symmetry after the first day i used it.  If anyone on here has any advice or thoughts please feel free to comment.

Actually in the post above i meant extended tummy tuck not LBL.  LOL
I guess after losing 300 plus pounds i just need the whole body done.  LOL

I saw a different PA today who actually took the time to answer my ?'s She said I would indeed see alot of the swelling go down and things would even out. I bought a compression shirt at walmart today and the PA said that would help as well. I am currently wearing 2 abdominal binders one a little higher than the other. I may buy a pair of compression shorts and run the tubes out through the front to see if that helps as well cause I still have alot of swelling down there as well.

I guess living in an instant gratification society we want to see our results right away especially when you pay for all of this up front. I guess time will tell.

Give it more time.

I'm 4 months post Fleur de lis TT and brachioplasty.  My tummy is still swollen, tight and achy.  ( I had a small area open on vertical tummy incision two weeks ago and it was previously closed and looked healed??)  I'm sure there may be more "surprises". I have tightness in armpits from incisions, too.

I'm realistically looking at one year after surgery to be "back to normal."
