what clothes to pack for armlift surgery?

if you had stitches in your scalp then I assume he did a forehead lift as well - I'm nervous that would give the "deer in the headlights" startled look - I'm going to Dr. Bello in Mexicali and haven't had an in person consultation yet so I don't know if he will use compression things on the arms or not - they sound miserable so I am hoping that is a no....but I also hope he won't do a straight line on the arms - in pictures of other peoples scars it seems the curves look less noticeable and kind of blend into the arm muscle shape....so I'm hoping to talk him into doing it that way - don't know how open a surgeon would be to suggestions like that though....

you said you were able to wear 3/4 sleeve tshirts after a while when going out - when was your face presentable enough to go out to restaurants, etc?  and did the neck lift hurt when you ate or drank?

so many questions - I really appreciate hearing as much as possible to help the worries...

I had my surgery 8-15 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy Michigan.  I seriously considered going out of the country but decided to stay close to home.

You can't see the scars on my arms when they hang at my sides.  I didn't have very must skin to take off my arms.  I have always been an apple shaped person with skinny arms and legs.  My thighs do look great but I can live with them, they will be the last to get fixed if I decide to go that far.

I've had other surgeries and other scars, none have remained raised so chances are the arms scars will fade with time.  I really just wanted to wear sleeveless tops again but not going to happen until I can get the armpits looking better.  The doctor said he couldn't do more because it would restrict my range of motion.  Personnaly, I don''t need to reach higher than my head,

Since you're going so far from home, how do you address any problems you may have?  Who takes out your stitches?

I didn't have my forhead lifted, nor my upper eyes done.  My eyes looked strange for a few weeks and mishapened but things don't look so odd now.

Hi again - my husband had his VSG surgery at this hospital in Mexicali - and it was a wonderful experience - tons better than mine in Long Beach Calif - and half the price - it is about a 3-4 hour drive for us - 3 hrs from San Diego - so it's not like we had to do airports, etc and go across country.
The surgeon said my face stitches would be removed in ten days and I could either drive back down for him to do it or I could go to a local doctor - he said the arms had dissolving stitches and they would not need to be removed.  I could stay just one night in the hospital or for an extra $100 stay an additional night - so I'm staying the additional night since I'm sure I'd be more comfortable there.

I don't have the armpit problem - and have had skin cancer surgeries that all healed pretty well with not much scar evidence - except for one on my lower calf that was not stitched up by a plastic surgeon and has stayed dark colored but it is not a big deal.....I just would hate to have a long white line along my inner arms and so I am really really hoping to not have that result.  Like you, I want to be able to wear short sleeves or sleeveless as well as looking better in a swimsuit - the thighs would be my next choice but I haven't really tried hard enough to use weights and exercise to tone those up - and I've heard it's really painful....and I can cover them with clothes and even a paraiso at the beach or pool - so - since I am almost 66, I can probably live with them and my saggy boobs.
