xpost - Got dates for Hernia surgery and plastics
So with all the drama involved and my hernia acting up and trying to speed up the insurance, we've set the dates for my surgeries. My insurance is covering the removal of the panini (?), the loose skin below the belly button and the hernia. We are doing that next Wed. on the 21st. I want them to do the T cut so my PS surgeon (my RNY doc will fix the hernia) can tighten up my ab muscles and really close off the hernia which is really big, but the insurance considers this cosmedic. However, they have a peer to peer review where my doc is going to talk to their doc one on one and we hope he can convince them to cover the abs. This will be done at the hospital and I'll stay overnight.
The back (butt) and thighs are considered cosmedic, and I can't disagree. We're doing those a week later so I can use the same time off work to recover, but these will be done at the surgery center (which is a really good and fairly new facility) which is less expensive than the hospital. I can't believe it's really happening and part of me is not ready. I'm afraid they'll find the hernia is really bad. I don't want to go through another long recovery. I'm afraid my body won't turn out the way I'd hoped. Yet I'm excited to to finally be getting it done. And the hernia has to be done no matter what. It's starting to prevent me from doing things, which is not good.
Anyway, just thought I'd give you an update.
