My point is, it's not a necessity.

It's something that can be delayed.

If there are medical things going on, and insurance will pay...go for it.

However, if insurance won't pay...get a price point, save or get a loan.

I totally feel your frustration. Laura is correct that the last two years are more important in terms of building credit, so at the very least make sure you have no late payments from here on out. Obviously I don't know your particular credit situation, but in general you want to pay down balances and make payments on time. As far as late payments go, the older they are the better. I know it's frustating, but it does take time to rebuild credit. In the meantime, you can save up for your procedures.

Definitely pull your credit reports. You can get them at annualcreditreport.com for free. You'll have to pay to get your FICO score, but the three reporting agencies have to give you one report annually for free. If I were you, I'd pull all three and see if there are any discrepancies. Credit reporting agencies make mistakes, so definitely look things over and see if you can get any of the negatives taken off your reports.

Also, if you have any old credit cards still open, leave them open! Don't use them, but don't close them out either because it will affect the ratio of debt to available credit. If you can get one decent credit card, just use that one for little expenses and pay it off every month in order to build a history of on-time payments.

Good luck with everything.

I just want to say that I fully understand your anxiety issues about men and your body.  I have alot of skin and my husband says if I don't mind why do you.  Not sure but i hate the way I look, I feel so unattractive and want the skin gone.  I absolutely don't think you need couseling, I think you are normal and if I was on the dating scene it would be a huge hurdle for me to overcome how I feel about my body with a new man.  So basically what I'm saying is I understand.  I don't know what you can do but building your credit seems like the first step.
