Update on surgery and insurance
With all the pushing, my insurance got back to us today. They will cover my abdominoplasty (all the skin below the belly button), but not the abs nor butt nor thighs. They consider the last three cosmetic. I agree about the butt and thighs, but the whole point of having the abs was so my ps can tighten the muscles to really seal in the hernia after it's repaired. My PS is going to have a peer on peer review discussion with the doc at my insurance and to see if he can convince him to cover the abs too. Then I will have the abs, stomach and hernia done, then a week later self pay for butt and thighs. I also should note that I have had no rashes or any problems, so I am very happy my insurance is covering what they are.
