Have drains in both arm pits. They are uncomfortable…like they’re digging into my skin. Have to empty them every 4 hours. Left one is collecting blood, but the right one just a dribble. They said it may not drain. Pain med every 4 hrs. Slept good lasst night in the recliner at the hotel.  Think I'll probably sleep in recliner at home too.  Easier to keep my arms elevated and more comfortable than being flat on my back in bed.  Sure hope these drains come out today!  Guess I didn't ask her how long they would have to stay in.

Yay! How are you feeling? I am planning my arms next, how much was removed? Keep us posted on the pain and swelling and drains and such.

Hi Jessi.  My arms measured from the top "edge" of the arm, down to the flab - over 8 inches.  I will post before and after as soon as I can get the after pictures taken.  Swelling isn't too bad.  I'm not taking pain meds now.  Will use Tylenol if I need to, but the only discomfort is in the armpit where the drain comes out.  And I think that's just because my arm closes over it and it kind of digs into the skin.

They took the bandages off to look at them and OMG!  They look wonderful!!!

From looking at the arms when they took the bandages off, I'm going to LOVE them!  Even swollen, they look better than they did!  Good luck with yours.  Next time I take off my compression bandages, I'll get pictures then post before n after.

My drains were in for 7 days, but they came out around the elbow, so they weren't as much of a bother...  Don't over reach for anything, it's not worth it.  If you feel a stretch stop.  It'll get better it just takes time.  Keep up on the pain meds.

Good for you!! I was so thrilled when I got my arms done!! They made the biggest difference to me because you can't hide your arms like you can hide everything else. And I love wearing sleeveless shirts (I would never wear anything less than 3/4 sleeves before my brachioplasty).

Rest up and you'll feel great in no time!!

i did the same thing, laura,  there are so many cute clothes/blouses with short or cap sleeves.  Can't wait to be able to wear them.  But winter is coming, so I may have to plan a tropical vacation so I won't have to wait until next spring! lol

I'll post some before and after as soon as I get the after pics taken!  Good luck on  yours.  So far, I'm thinking this is a piece of cake...um I mean a protein bar. lol  A little discomfort where the drains are in, but otherwise, I haven't taken anything for pain since 7 AM and really didn't need it then but took it "just in case".  At that time, I hadn't had anything since 10:30 last night.
