Scar care and treatment

Paper tape is what my dr recomends... I had my boobs done last year and used paper tape for about 3 or so months, a year later the scars look great, hardly noticable in some areas. I just had my TT on 9/1 and I am back to the tape again.
Last year I had a reaction to one brand of tape and I changed brands and had no problems from that point on.
As the tape lifts cut it off and reapply do not rip the tape if it is not loose.
Good luck...

I bought the Scar Away silicone strips on Amazon. I believe it was $58 for twelve 1x7 inch strips. I cut them in half lengthwise and three pieces perfectly covers my incision. The theory behind the stretchy silicone is moisture and pressure, both of which really optimize the scars appearance. I've had mine on since the surgical tape came off at two weeks.
They will roll up under your clothes unless you wear some sort of binder or garment. They stay on in the shower even! I change them once a week. At one month out, my incision is extremely fine and looking well. It keeps them from feeling tight and provides support against any twisting or pulling on the incision line. You want those suture lines to stay tight and still for as long as possible.
The proof will be in the final result. I'm not one to scar well at all. My scars from my Lap RNY are still clearly visible and sort of dark... only now they're below my belt, not above!!
