I've got new & improved boobs!

Yesterday morning I had a breast lift with augmentation, with Dr Pratt in Kirkland, WA.

It really sucked at first because I was the second surgery of the day, and couldn't eat after midnight the night before. I didn't go into surgery until noon. So I was pretty cranky and hungry by the time I was ready to go in. To make matters worse, the only magazine I brought with me was a cooking magazine (stupid stupid stupid!!) haha.

I was nervous because the doctor said he couldn't put in implants that were medium or small sized. I guess it's based on breast width diameter (the diameter of the base of your breasts). The implant should be the same diameter as the base of your breast. I was originally thinking 350cc. But he measured my breasts and said they have a large base, and I have a large frame and ribcage. Based on my measurements the smallest he would be willing to go was 480cc. (I almost cr@pped my pants when he said that). I was looking for nice, athletic looking boobs, not Las Vegas Stripper boobs! But I trust him, he hasn't done any work that looks fake or bad. So I said, do it.

They're saline, under the muscle. I am not convinced of the safety of silicon.

So, I went in, the surgery took about 5 hours, and I vaguely remember waking up and saying a lot of really weird stuff to the recovery nurses (I think I complimented one on her "young-looking teeth). I think I was in a lot of pain when I woke up but they immediately dosed me with something great. My chest is all wrapped in gauze and bandages. It looks big but not huge, which I'm thankful for. The pain isn't severe. I've been staying on top of it (I set a timer) and it's more muscle soreness than anything, like I did 1,000 pushups. I spent all of last night throwing up everything, but we figured out it was the percocet, so I switched to a smaller dose of vicodin and it was like magic, no more vomiting! All I've been able to eat so far is crackers, toast, and creamed corn. I'm not worrying about protein today because I can't even stomach the thought but tomorrow I'm going to start working on that in earnest.

I'll definitely post my before/after pictures here once I'm more healed and don't look so much like bride of frankenstein. I've been sleeping in a leather recliner with a fan aimed at me, it really helps. My parents took away my laptop yesterday because I was so high they were afraid I'd post something horrible on facebook (like, my 'before' pics? haha). Probably wise.

Anyway, I'll keep everyone updated. I'm sleeping a lot, and me and my mom are watching that old movie "Problem Child" on the tv right now. Funny stuff!!

Do you know what size you're considering? I went from a very saggy B cup (mostly skin, honestly) to a... well, I don't know what I am. But at least a D. Hopefully it won't look too huge because I'm 5'9 and have a large frame.

I actually took a trip to a strip club and asked each of the dancers with implants about their experiences. They were all very gracious and answered all of my questions, and even let me cop a few feels. It was very informative. (And yes, I did tip them haha). Honestly the silicone did feel much more realistic. But the saline ones that were done under the muscle weren't bad. Saline over the muscle was very obvious feeling, you could feel the wrinkles in the bag. I did a lot of reading and decided that saline had a longer track record, and if it ever sprung a leak (god forbid) it would just be sal****er that harmlessly re-absorbed. I didn't want silicone traveling all over my body, it doesn't biodegrade. But I can absolutely understand why people get silicone, because it feels much more realistic. In the end, I figured, the only person who's gonna be touching them is me and my future boyfriend/husband. For everyone else, they just have to look good haha. I'll friend you so you can see my pics when I post them.

Thanks for posting this!  I'm looking at getting mine done this spring.  I've also gone back and forth between saline and silicone.  I'm not 100% convinced of the safety of silicone, either, but I do want them to look and feel realistic.  *sigh*  I am leaning towards saline under the muscle as well.

My PS also mentioned doing a 450 on me and I also was shocked!  That sounds so big!  Though, I am also tallish (5'7") and he said that he bases his sizing on the size of the pectoral, etc.  I'm thinking I'll end up a D, which would be fine with me.

I'd love to see your before and afters if you don't mind.

Thanks for posting about your experience. I have a consult with Dr. Pratt next week. I need the works and he's significantly less than Dr. Egrari or Dr. Dry and his before and afters look great. When you're feeling up to it,would love to hear more about how you chose Dr. Pratt.

Dr Pratt is simply fabulous. I consulted with 4 doctors and he is by far the most detail-oriented, to the point of obsession. My first impression of him was, Hmm, this guy is a little weird. Only because he didn't seem as friendly or outgoing or "shmoozy" as the other surgeons I'd seen. But you know what, that's actually a good thing. Because he's so focused on the actual work at hand, and is so skilled, that he doesn't NEED to be a salesman. He gave it to me straight. When I told him what I wanted, he said, well I can't give you that, and here are the reasons, but I can give you this. He is very no-nonsense. My pics are on my phone which is charging but today I'm going to upload them (they're not pretty, I mean, I'm only 2 days post-op, but already you can see how much better they look).

Did you know you can look up lawsuits on the washington state court system's website? I'm high on lortab right now so I can't remember what the site is, but what I did when I was looking at docs was search for all of them on the court system webpage to see how many times each had been sued. All of them had been sued (It's plastic surgery, you're bound to get sued at least once, this is America after all) but Dr Pratt only had 1 or 2 lawsuits and it looks like he didn't lose. Another surgeon in the area who I consulted with, Dr Anous (also quite famous) has been sued a TON. And he didn't really answer my questions adequately, he just kept telling me "you'll be beautiful". I later found a woman online who'd had a horrific experience with him. Dodged a bullet with that one! So you should check out their legal records.

I'm going on and on, I know, because it's the drugs. But I am so thrilled already. Dr Pratt called me the day after surgery just to check up, wanted to know how I was doing. They switched around my pain meds when what I had didn't work so well.

Even when he was marking up my breasts before surgery, he took probably 20 minutes with his ruler and marker, obsessively drawing, measuring, and re-drawing, checking for symmetry, wrinkling his nose, stepping back, looking again, etc. He really is obsessed with getting it right. His nurses are all wonderful, Eileen (main nurse) has fielded probably 10 phone calls from me in the last 2 days, answering all of my crazy little questions ("My upper chest is itchy, is it ok to scratch? Can I take my vitamin D supplement? Is it ok if I eat a fried egg?).

I'm having him do my fleur de lis tummy tuck in 3 weeks. I'll probably go back to him for my arms sometime next year, and my mom is already talking about having him do a neck lift on her. Geez now we sound like a bunch of plastic surgery addicts.

Anyway, I'll put up those pics today. And don't be shy about asking any other questions you might have. I can't say enough good things about him.

Can I ask what you're wanting to have done? All of his stuff looks great, except i'm a little hesitant about the butt-lift. He only had 2 in his portfolio and his butts end up looking pretty flat. He doesn't do butt augmentation I don't think. But everything else is awesome. Especially the boobs. Oh my god, my boobs. I'll def show you the pics.

I'm gonna shut up now or I never will haha.

You are hilarious!!  I think it is great that you went to the strip clubs.  I wish I was bold enough to do something like this.  I go 11-2 for brachioplasty, BL/BA with bra line lift. This will be the first of my plastics.  My surgeon is really recommending the silicone implants under the muscle.  Not sure of how many cc's yet.  I'm 47 and 5'7".  More likely to be found at the PTA than on a stripper pole.  That is actaully what I told her, so I just want something to look right on my fram

Continued good karma in your recovery!

Woohoo congrats!!! Oh man, it's an adventure. Just be prepared. I went to target and got 3 pairs of cheap pajamas that button up in the front and are sleeveless. Those are good. Definitely want button-up tops. Umm, I can't remember all of the tips I've been collecting. But when I remember I'll reply again to you. Good luck! Will post pics today. Oh, I also have a short youtube video I made about my boobs. Maybe I'l post that too.

Have you been on makemeheal.com? That's a great website with good messageboards. They have some pre-op lists for these surgeries that are extensive and have lots of tips I wouldn't have thought of.
