Consult tomorrow!! A little confused...

My consult with the surgeon I am hoping to use was moved up and is now tomorrow.  I am nervous.  I am excited to see what he says.  When the lady from his office called to let me know about the availability, she said that she saw that I am wanting to do a lot of procedures and she asked me which ones were priority so we he would know what to talk about with me on this first visit.  That confused me a little.  I told her that I would like to have them all done and was hoping to talk to him about all of them.  She said she would block off the hour and the doctor and I could decide what we would talk about.  What were y'all's experiences with consults? Did you discuss everything you wanted done with your doctor before doing any surgery? I definitely want to discuss everything because I want a total plan before I go under the knife for my first surgery.  What should I do if he doesn't seem to work that way and only discusses the surgeries that are top priority with me first?  I am hoping the nurse just wasn't thinking when she made it seem like that might be the case.  It makes no sense to me that we wouldn't have it all planned out before any of the surgeries take place.  Also, I need to know how much it will all cost if I go with him so I need to have decided exactly what we will do before I schedule anything.  Sorry for rambling... the nurse just kind of confused me with her question.  Please keep me in your thoughts as I go for my consult. I am very excited!!

All I can go by was my case.

He looked at the whole shebang, and asked what I felt needed doing. He agreed, and explained how each part would be done. (He also felt I should have a neck lift and some work on my eyes but I haven't gone there and doubt I will).

He then asked what areas I felt needed to be done first. In my case, due to chronic muscle pull/tear, I needed the breast lift/reduction and brachioplasty done first. He was willing to combine that with the LBL and anchor cut, and said we'd do the thighs and implants (if I wanted to go that route after everything settled down) about 3 months later. His professional opinion was that thighs and arms should not be done together because you'll need one or the other to maneuver yourself around.

His office does schedule a full hour for the initial consult so that you CAN talk about everything and make a general plan. Your surgeon's office might schedule only a half hour unless somebody requests more time.

Best of luck with all of this - it's almost as dramatic a roller coaster as the weight loss!
