I am thinking of having a tummy tuck. I go back to my wls at the end of November or December. I will let my wls do my tummy tuck. He went to school to do this on his patience only. He does no other kind of plastics.

He told me he does not let his patience go home with the pain pump like he did before. He has found that when he did that the drain hoses have to stay in longer and he does not want them to stay in long to prevent infection.

I am so scared of the pain of this. I have had 4 children all natural my last child weighted 13 lbs 2 oz and that hurt but not for as long as I think the tummy  tuck will. I have been told by people how bad it hurts but they have not had a tummy tuck just a friend of there's had it.

So please tell me the good the bad the ugly of this. I am such a chicken. Is it worth all the pain also would you tell one you loved to get one after they have lost weight like we do?. do they tell you how much the skin weighted after they removed it?

My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

Personally, I would not let my bariatric surgeon perform my tummy tuck. I would want someone who does plastics full-time to do it. If I was going to do it, I wanted the best results and therefore chose the best surgeon.

My pain was bad for 3 days, but when I took my pain meds on schedule it really was not above a 3. The first week, I had a catheter and 2 drains, which were a pain. My biggest problem was being uncomfortable from my buttock auto augmentation.

Definitely worth it, though. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I have to agree with Laura, I would highly suggest going with a plastic surgeon and not a bariatric surgeon. Even if he's been trained to do this proceudre, it's best to go with someone who does that all of the time and has vast more experience. You'll get a much better result.

Just my opinion.

As far as pain was concerned, mine was minimal to none. I had pain with my thigh lift due to the lipo and with my facelift, but my TT was virtually painless.

He took 13lbs off the first time - and 6 with my revision. If you ask, they will tell you, usually. I would highly recommend a TT to anyone who has excess Tummy skin. It makes a huge difference to your self-esteem.

i would say the first few days are a little rough, but not really much pain, its the discomfort and the drains were a pain.  I love the results so I would do it again.  For me I am done with plastic surgery, I will not do the legs I am 56 years old and can live with my legs , if I were younger it would be a different story.

I am only getting a tummy tuck. I get infections under the skin and my back is killing me. I hope the insurance will cover some of it but if not I will pay. I hate my arms but not enough to have them cut on.

I trust my wls so i am just getting it done by him. He does this kind of surgery all the time on men and women. But the two people I have talked with that he did them on had the pain pump to take home so they say they had no pain. He does not use the pump any more only in the hospital. I am 47 and my legs I can deal with.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

TT was painful for me the first 3-5 days but became tolerable with pain meds every 4 hours.  The worst was in the hospital when it hurt just to move & get out of bed.  I had the OnQ pump that automatically pumps lidocaine (or some numbing substance) into the incisions and I barely felt my incisions.  I agree with everyone else who found the drains to be more about discomfort than pain.  Good luck!

I must agree with the other posters.  There is no way I would ever get plastic surgery done by someone other than a board certified plastic surgeon.  Anyone who does plastic surgery without being board certified is not qualified to perform any plastic surgery procedures.

I know you feel comfortable with your weight loss surgeon.  However, without the proper training and credentials, you weight loss surgeon is only "moonlighting"  as a wannabe plastic surgeon.
