Question about LBL and skin above belly button.

With a 360 belt lipectomy can a PS address the extra skin above the BB without making a vertical incision? Fairly new to this and unsure about how it all works. I'm going in for a second consultation and am hoping to set a surgery date at that time. Thanks for any help.

Depends on how bad the skin is. Mine was taken care of b/c it was pulled down. If you have a lot of excess skin the vertical cut may be the only thing to address it.

Thanks for your post. The skin is very minimal above BB but I definetly want it tight. My abs are in very good shape, no tightening needed, but there is deffinetly some loose skin above BB. The PS said my BB would be in the same position so that makes me feel that he is not planing on giving mush attention above. I'm going in for a second consult to make sure we're on the same page.I couldn't resist posting and getting some info untill then though.. Thanks

A plastic surgeon explained that they cut the skin away from the tissue (i.e. where your belly button attaches in), so they can pull from the bottom and the top. Then after that's where it need to be, make a new belly button.

I had my pannis removed 2.5 weeks ago. I had a large roll above my bb the doctor basically cut a hole around my bb and pulled my skin down, she said the skin a couple inches below my breasts is now a lot closer to the pubic line closer to the scar that I now have. She then cut a new hole in the area where my bb is and put me all back together. I was worried about how it would look bc of the top roll but if they pull it down it comes out great.

I had lbl 360 last year. We thought that the lbl alone would take care of roll above belly button; alas, not as much as we hoped. If I stand pole straight--yes, belly is flat, but if I stand *normal* or wear anything with a waist band, here comes big belly roll. I even ended up with a small roll over the lbl line. No worries, as I am having round 2 in a few weeks, and ps will go ahead and do the vertical tightening as well. It's a trade off and I prefer the scar over the roll.

But, there are so many variables to this, my skin didn't rebound as well as we thought it would. How much elasticity, low long obese, age, plain old genetics, etc are all factors to this.
