Am I crazy to try to get a chemical peel at my one week postop appointment. I figured that if I'm going to be stuck in the house and miserable, I might as well knock it all out while I have narcotics on board!! She said this will be a medium strength peel--not the big momma, but not the one where you go 3 times. I can't remember the name of it.

Any thoughts??

I haven't had plastics yet, but I honestly considered doing that when I had my RNY because I knew I'd be off work. My aunt had one done about three weeks ago and she said it took about two weeks before she could deal with any sun on her face or going outside or driving for any length of time. Plus, you have the pain pills then, so why not?

why don't you have it done in the OR while you are under anesthesia?  That is my plan.

I wouldn't suggest doing that.  I have had friends who had other procedures (invasive) done following plastics and they have gotten infections.  One had some teeth pulled and she ended up in the hospital for over a week on IV abx.  Another one had a tatoo and her ears pierced, she ended up with an infection that settled in her plastic surgery areas.
Just something to think about.
