Starting to get a little nervous--surgery just over 2 weeks out! Oh, work ? too.

I had my labs and EKG done today for the surgery. Have my mammogram Tuesday. All of these tests are making this start to feel very real. Today I was shopping for food to prepare in advance of my surgery. EEEK! Tomorrow I go get fitted for my implants. I'm excited about that. Should be fun! So it seems I will need the Ativan the prescribed!!

Also, I am a medical transcriptionist from home. What are the odds that given an uneventful postop recovery I'd be able to start typing a couple hours a day, as I feel able (no rush work or required hours), within a week after surgery. She's giving me the week off and not pressuring me at all, but I was curious what y'all thought.

Well, I'm off to get ready for Back to School night. At least it's a distraction!!

Thanks guys!

Denise

I definitely would NOT have been able to concentrate to work even just a couple hours a day until at least 3 weeks out. I was in a fog and slept most of the day. But others seems to bounce back more quickly.

So excited for you!!

I was afraid of that. Granted, I realize this is HIGHLY individualized from what I've read. I remember reading about one gal that carried her own luggage on her trip home at 10 days out or something like that. So hopefully I'll fall into the sooner than later category. My boss is being very nice, but she only missed one day with an abdominoplasty, so she's probably thinking I'll be totally fine after 7 days. That and I've had all kinds of system problems with her software and missed most of yesterday, today and will miss tomorrow too before the glitches are ironed out. I know she doesn't blame me, but I also know she needs the help. Oh well, if I can't do it I can't do it and if she can't wait, she'll find someone else. I can't stress about it. My health is way more important than a little part-time job.

Thanks again for the feedback! Seems you are doing better every day! That is great. You give me hope!
