Could you wipe after LBL/BL?

Odd question of the day: My friend asked if I'd be able to wipe after the surgery because she remembered being in such pain after hers that her husband wiped for her. Well, I'm not going to have that much assistance here after. Is this something I need to concern myself with? Should I install a bidet?? LOL!

Thanks!

Denise

You should definitely be able to wipe.  I had a private nurse with me for the first week after my LBL/BL and honestly all she helped me with was bathing.  I felt really good right away!

Yes, I was able to wipe. Never even worried about that...

The walk to and from the bathroom was much harder than wiping!  I didnt have any issues wiping at all.  You will be slow and hunched over walking, just take it slowly and stay on top of your pain meds and I think you will be able to manage.

The whole bathroom situation ended up being no big deal...I was personally worried about it as well.

After all I heard about people having others wipe for them and buy toilet seat risers...ended up being no problemo at all.  After walking half bent over on the way to the potty, heck, it was relaxing to take a break on the pot!  haha :)

Funny you'd ask that, because I worried about the same thing! Not a problem...Wiping was just fine LOL best of luck!
