Day 4 post-op. Not feeling too skippy today.

Hi guys. Well, its 4 days out for me.

I had my first post op appt yesterday. Went well. Inciions were clean and dry. All drsgs came down and I am to leave them open to air except for the drain insertion sites. JPs can't come out yet as they are still putting out too much. Frankly this binder hurts the tender incicions so I will keep them loosely covered.

As expected, my surgeon is most concerned about the area where the vertical and horizontal incisions meet. It is nortorious for healing problems so he wants me to keep a close eye on it.

Not too much swellling yet but boy, it is tight as hell. Pain pump ran dry yesterday and I can feel my incision for the first time. Not too bad...more like "zings" of pain. The area where he tightened the muscles is sore for sure!

But I guess my outing was alot for me. We stopped for Starbucks on the way home. I feel hammered and puny today. I just took some pain med and am ready for a nap after I choke down this protein shake. I have zero appetite. So, I am drinking Oh Yeahs and plenty of water. I was down 14 pounds on my doc's scale...even with post op swelling.

All in all...guess I am on track. Back to the surgeon next Thursday. Maybe drains can come out then.

Till then...I am laying low. But I want my stamina back!! boo hoo.

But I don't want to be all gloomy! My belly looks great even with the swelling. It is so nice to not have that hanging weight in the front of my body. 15 pounds gone is a big chunk missing! I am happy fer sure!

Of course now I am totally staring at my arms and breasts nonstop...hating them...if surgeon is willing next week, I want to set the date for the brachio and mastopexy for December.

This is a crazy adventure kids! Got pics but I have no idea how to post...but I will try to figure it out soon!

Not posting much but I am checking in to  see how everyone is. Hope all are well!

Thanks guys!

I'm sorry you're not feeling Skippy but heck, it sounds like you had a huge day yesterday with going to the doc and starbucks.  Give yourself a good opportunity to just rest today.  Follow whatever orders you have for sipping and walking.  It sounds like you're recovery is awesome thus far.  I'm sorry that garmet is hurting you.

Thanks for checking in.  Please keep the reports coming as you're able!

hey i'm one day behind you this is my third day out from Fleur de lis tummy tuck and I feel pretty tired and wiped out.  Hate the drains they keep leaking out from the tube where they come out of my body.  Can't remember ever looking this small or flat though.  I'm staying at my sister's in Hamilton for a week then heading home for Thunder Bay.  Have to say this was a far better experience then what happened last year.  My surgeon is great.  I'm super exhausted today.  One thing that is weird is that I lost three  hundred pounds yet they only removed about seven pounds of skin.  I would have thought it would be much more.  Take it easy and rest like everyone else has said it will make a difference in the long run.  I wish that they could invent a paiin med. that didn't make you feel stoned but just took away the pain.

let me know how you are doing we can compare notes.

Oh sweetie of course your not feeling good! You JUST had surgery and a major one at that. Remember this is a very slow healing process and it is so important to take it slow and rest. I agree the drains are the worst! You'll feel so much better when they are out.

I know its hard to not feel like yourself, and depend on others so much. But its so worth it. Each day you'll feel better. Just get lots of rest. Your doing great with your fluid intake...Keep it up!

Before you know it you'll be back to you and rocking that hot new body!

Happy healing and GO REST!

Hang in there, there is a light at the end of this tunnel! Go back and read past posts from others and know that that is your HOPE too! But for now, rest so your body can heal and you can go shopping! Shopping always makes me happy! Don't forgetthat extra dose of protien, your body after surgery is under stress.
Nightie night,
