Arms - wait until goal?

I will need a lot of work done once I reach my goal (will have lost about 250 lbs) and I know I want to/need to wait until I hit my goal and maintain for a while before I consider a TT/LBL, but what about my arms?

They are disporportionately large and they are really - gross. Even now, after about half of my EWL. I wouldn't consider doing anything now, but what about 30-40 lbs from goal? Would that be a possibility or would PS still like me to be at goal/maintaining?

You could probably get them done now...you will probably just need a revision once you get to goal or closer to goal.

Hmm good to know. I might because they bother me and I have to buy all my clothes bigger just so my freaking arms fit. I could live with normal bat wings, but my arms are just....something out of a horror movie!

I was in the same situation as you - I'd have to buy a size or two larger just to get my arms in the sleeves!  I would go for a consult and the surgeons would say they don't like to do arms because of all the nerve ending and then I'd show them my arms and they'd said okay I can see why you want to have them done.  I did mine when I still had 30 lbs to lose and I think they look fine.   I think having them done helped me to lose the remaining weight because I could be more active.

I had mine done when I still had 100lbs to lose.  I will be having a revision on them when I get my upper body lift and my breast lift and aug.  I have had 3 surgeries with various procedures.  I had the first done over a  year ago and it was because of my chronic back issues due to my panni being so heavy.  I was able to be much more active and lost the rest of my weight in a very short time.  I had my TT revised with an anchor cut/LBL in May along with my thigh lift and face.  My thighs are the worst and I'll need them done in 3 stages.  When you weigh as much as I did, things can't be done all at once.  I couldn't wait until I got to goal. The excess skin caused too much discomfort.

With that being said, I knew upfront I would be having revisions done later and I knew my cost would be much higher.  I'm okay with that.

I went with Dr Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico and he is extremely supportive!

I had my arms done one month after reaching goal. I couls not live with the wings. They drove me CRAZY!! I figured they wouldn't change much if I gained or lost a few pounds. Some surgeons want you to wait for nutritional reasons (it can affect healing).

I've had two consults and two different approaches.  My weight is 148 and a healthy BMI is 145 for me.

The Kaiser surgeon who does beautiful work on WLS patients (self pay) said that he would lipo my arms when doing my LBL because they are still heavy and he thinks it would be better to get the fat out first and then do them along with a breast lift.  He said there's a lot of nerves in the upper arms and the procedure would be safer and better later on.

Dr. Sauceda in Mexico thinks it's time to do them whenever I'm ready.

So glad I found this post, because I came to post the same question.

I am a RNY to DS revision.  When I lost weight with RNY, my arms were not sexy, but I was still able to wear my arms out and not feel self conscious.  With my weight loss now, my arms look horrible.  I guess because I am older and the elasticity isn't the same.  I have about 80 more lbs to lose. I would like to get my arms done in about 40-50 more lbs.  I am in my best friends wedding next year.  I have never been in a wedding before and I am SO excited. Our dresses are absolutely gorgeous, but the are sleeveless and strapless and I want to feel completely confident.
Nothing feels better than being able to go into ANY store and fit their clothes!
