I feel like Im stuck
Well its 22 days post op and I have been feeling like UGH. My drains were taken out last week and since then the swelling has been kicking my butt. Not to mention that the 9 lbs that were lost between 8/3 and yesterday....7.5 of them have found the way back.(how rude)After looking at the swelling and different pics on-line I think I may have a build up of an seroma(there is no pain or openings along the incision) but I'm not sure and don't know if its just my mind playing tricks on me. I see the Dr. tomorrow for my last post op appt to clean and check everything prayerfully she will tell me all is well. I really want to start working out again but I know that's not happening no time soon...ugh.. Its things like that which push me to eating out of frustration, boredom and just because there. I keep certain things in my head..."Motivate Yourself","Purpose over Process" and "You are the only one that can stop You"....but I'm calling out for a little advice,motivation...anything to help me get through this little bump in the journey... I know I can make it...Ive come this far...156 will be here before I know it...just gotta keep pushing..
OAN: There has been good in the midst of this all...I SHOPPED this weekend...all dresses/tops and bottoms were.... M's and 10's...Must say I cant complain coming from the highest being size 22. And I'm making a trip to Houston for the weekend to celebrate my 26th b-day which is Monday the 29th. My surgery was a gift to myself.. the 1st time I actually did something for MYSELF without others opinions making the decision for me. I'm blessed, thankful and very happy with this journey I'm taking in life...take it easy guys!

PS. Make sure you are wearing your binder or pressure garment to help with the swelling.

I just had my arms done and at a month out, I still wasn't 100%. I'm almost 6 weeks out, and I am just now feeling 95%.
Rest!!! Are you working? When you aren't working, cool your jets! Rest will aid in recovery.
Also, try some slow walks.
And id definitely have your surgeon check a possible infection. When I thought I had one, I made my sure my compressions were extra tight for about a week. I bet it's just healing though. My incisions were really hard and I thought it was a hematoma, but doc said it was healing.

Really, we all go through these rough spots. While I may not have posted about having the blues, I did have my moments. That darn swelling can really mess with our heads.
Check that diet. Has sugar comfort foods crept back in? sugar can bloat me up really bad, get back to your basics and you may also find it will help your mood too!
Have you cleaned up the house? Like removing anything that signifies that you just has surgery ( chucks, pain meds., gauze,etc..), I din't feel 100% until I started putting those items out of site. I suddenly felt ready to come back to the land of the living!
You treated yourself to some shopping, how about some pampering? a nice pedi/mani can do wonders!!!!
But more importantly, Don't let the devil steal your joy!
Blessings,
carmen

Exercise is a NECESSITY
Went to see the doc today and....you would not believe at least 360+cc's were drained from the "mons" area which I thought was EXTREME SWELLING ..and at least 5lbs on the scale..so I'm feeling better and a little more relaxed. My next appt will be Sept. 6 to see if there is anymore build up. Headed to enjoy by birthday weekend out of town... Thanks for the support OH family
