6 weeks Post Op: Offering some HOPE

Sorry no pictures today. I had a lower body lift 6 weeks ago.

Last week I returned to work (preschool teacher) All last week I began my exercising at work on my break. Did my 3 -4 mile walks, & stair climbing in parking garage (40 flights). I continued over the weekend. Yesterday was our first day of school, and I am happy to say, it was the children who were challenging and not my physical capabilities! Today, they became less challenging, and tomorrow better yet!

Today was my first day working with my trainer! I was so happy! She modified alot of my movements. My daughter works out with me, so she had to preform the full exercise, where I did half the positions. I love my TRAINER!!!!!!

Anyway, just offering a glimore of hope for those of you going through tough days. Early post op. can suck. You feel like you are in this stage forever. On my 2nd week post op, I no longer  needed all my props (walker, toliet seat raiser, chucks, etc...). I had my family clear all any thing that reeked of "I just had surgery" reference.

To get through it, I schedualed a hair cut, a mani/ pedi, and yes even a lil shopping. I kept all my reciepts, as I dropped a whole size!!!!!!!! SWEEETTTTT!  From a size 10 to a size 8!!!! And the proud owner of 2 belts. Which I started at the 2 notch and as of today, I moved on to the 5th and final notch on my belt!!!!

So hang in  there, this is only a temporary stage, we don't stay there forever!!!
Have a great night,
Carmen prek3

It is nice to hear.  I am feeling much better and cannot wait till I can resume formal exercise.  I have been walking every day and building up.

I was so happy yesterday to get my drains removed but today I feel tired and pain (TT/LBL on 8/16)

Washed binder today and used ice on front and back while binder was washing & drying.  I am so out of it today.  Have barely walked except for 1 day last wk and it's not like I can't - I just don't feel like it...

I was wondering about resuming regular exercise and so glad to hear that @ 6 wks you're back w/ trainer.  That's great! What types of modifications were made if you don't mind me asking

Thanks

Phillies,
Push ups were just me pushing up from chest, abs not lifted off from ground. Plank? Just alternating lifting knees, not whole leg on toes. More upper body work. Sit ups? No usual crunches, knees bent and arms behind head slight lifting up. I go back to her tomorrow.
I don't know if I explained it well, or clearly. My perimenopasual mind and verbal skills are going by the way side lately!!!!
