Sneezing

Has anyone else had this happen? I sneezed and my stomach felt like it was going to rip open. I still have some pain on my left side below the rib cage where it started to hurt. It feels like I tore something. Is that possible, will a sneeze rip any stitches open on the inside where the PS did muscle repair? I mean on a scale of 1-10 its probably like a 4. Am I overreacting or is it my nerves regenerating?

When I had my c-section sneezing or coughing was the worst thing ever...they gave me a pillow like thing to hold on me when I would do so and it just took the edge off but it still hurt like hell...You got cut open so Im sure its just hurting from already being sore and then adding that to it.I would just keep an eye on it and maybe try the pillow thing. If it doesnt feel better just call and ask about it.Dont feel  bad calling its what they are there for.Hope you feel better
Loving this new life, just trying to figure it all out and take it all in day by day!!!

I feel your pain..!! Sneezing is a GREAT BIG OOOOOOOCH, FOR SURE.!!

YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO SNEEZE SOFTLY OR NOT SNEEZE AT ALL...I surprised myself at how LADY LIKE, I could actually sneeze...LOL.  I have always been a loud sneezer with a great big woooooo-hoooooooooooooooo at the end, but when I had my LBL, after the first side ripping sneeze, I learned quickly how to be a lady...hahahaha..!!

You may have to become a lady at sneezing for a few weeks...

TAKE CARE, PAUL..

sneezing softly ??? - would ROTFL if I could - your post cracked me up! It's good to know though after Paul's experience that there's a way to mitigate the pain.

I should put "don't make me laugh!!!!!!!" in my signature. Just sayin ...

The above post was meant for Cyndy...  I would never laugh about any painful experience.  I hope I learn how to use this message board during TT/LBL convalescence

It's ok. This sneezing thing really sucks. Coughing doesn't hurt as bad, but sneezing is the worst. I was just worried that I might have ripped a stich or something.

Well that's what I'm gonna have to practice then. Sneezing right now is not fun. It's not possible to rip any stitches inside is it? Thanks Cyndy.

I'm thinking that would have to be a really HARD sneeze...I'm thinking you are really tender and any kind of sudden movement or unexpected sneeze could cause you to pull at the stitches and the incissions, creating, some very uncomfortable strain and pull...
You may want to call your surgeons office to get his/her input, just to be on the safe side...
I have read before, of others feeling the same thing and they moved forward without any trouble of popped stitches...Still, call your surgeon just to see what they recommend...

Take care..
