Is it when you get off most of your meds or did surgeon give you restrictions.

I drove a couple of miles at 2+ weeks out.  But, I was only taking pain meds at night.  I did drive myself to Kaiser at 3 weeks out to get the rest of my stitches out.

My doc said as soon as I was off pain meds.  Driving wasn't a problem for me at all.

Was told not to drive until was off all pain meds.  Had an LBL so getting in and out I had to be careful not to slide in.  It was better to lift myself into and out of the seat.

I have been told that I can drive when I no longer take the narcotic pain meds.

Frankly...I am more worried about how I am gonna get my big ass up into my Ford F150.

ouch.

Get a small step stool or milk crate and keep it behind seat in truck with you. And try to park along curbs when you go somewhere that way you get a small boost as well.

Cool, it sounds like it won't be too long as soon as I get my wits about me. I had worked on pain pills before but got a ride to work for a while so I didn't know what my tolerance would be. Don't want to pu**** too soon.

Thanks

I drove at 8 days out. My two restrictions were no pain meds for 48 hours, and the drains had to be gone. I stopped meds at day 5, and the drains came out at day 7.. So I was gtg!

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

I was cleared to drive at 2 weeks out - even while on Percocet.

Well he said I could drive - but then I told him good cause I missed cruisin' in my Baby and he asked what I drove. When I said I drove a 2010 Camaro, he almost retracted his statement! LOL

I told him I couldn't get in and out of it yet anyway - so not to worry. Not to mention with the pain I was still having in my right rib, her stiff steering would have been painful. But I still had my hubby home and just let him chauffeur me for the first three weeks. LoL
