Paul,
Thanx for asking. This coming Monday will put me at 6 weeks out. I am soooo surprized how great I feel and how well I am healing. I am going full force with my exercise. Idid 2 miles of brisk walking and 40 flights of stairs in the hospital parking garage on my break (I get an hr. Break)! So I am feeling FANTASTIC! I start back with my trainer this Tuesday weights and all.

All joking aside, you are healing really well. Just keep that protien going!

Continue to Keep us updated,(and those pictures updated as well, wondering about that swelling, oink oink!

How far were you out before you could do brisk walking and exercising? I would like to know the best time to start again I just don't want to overdo it. I can wait until the right time but was just curious what types of other exercises do you do and when did you start them?

Oh and I will update the pics, the swelling should not be too bad, hehehe.

I started at the end of my 4th week, 30 min. Stationary bike, but my tush was so numb, I felt as if my pants were falling off! Then I did 1 hour on tread mill walking, and then a 4 mile beach walk last Saturday. Entering week 5 I did brisk brisk walking (15 minute miles usually 4 miles every day) and I added my stair climbing. I hate being confined to a gym unless I can do weights.

Yes my Dr. Okayed it. I wouldn't do it without his blessing, and if I didn't feel well enough. I see him again this coming Monday. But he had already told me I could begin weights this coming week putting me at 6 weeks post op).

Police officer? Correct? Hummmm what will the fellas think of u posting your pctures, or do they really know what you were out for, HIPPA?

No, none of my co-workers know, I would never hear the end of it. I just told them it was a hernia operation with muscle repair, well it was half true anyway.

Hi I started brisk walking about 3 weeks after surgery - inside in the a/c malls as it was way too hot to walk outside.  I started slow walking in the malls a week after surgery - but I really took my time so wouldn't really count that as any form of exercise.

Good Luck

I'm still a little hunched over, so I'm probably going to wait another week before going to the mall. Thanks for the reply.

Cyndy,
Gotta love ya! You just say what all us women were thinking! I thought it might jump out at me and bite me! LOL! But what I wanna know, is that his "junk in his trunk", or is that "swelling", there, I went there ; ) !
