Well got my denial letter from insurance for breast reduction and TT.! Of course not enough information! Documentation of consistent weight for 6 months needed and my skin does not hang completely below my pubis! There is a slight peek-a-boo of my pubis but that's it trust me, I have to lift my skin just to shave! Breast reduction can not be done just for back, neck pain. Have to be in treatment for back, neck pain for at least 12 months. So yeah me!! Felt like eating a million chocolate bars..ohh but I can't cause then I would throw up...cause I had GB! lmbo!! So instead I went out and ran till I threw up!! LOL! Figure I am just gonna work my ass off to get this last 30lbs off that seems impossible to shed, and when I win the lottery I will get PS!!!

Don't panic.  Most insurance companies won't pay for breast surgery or TT.  They will usually pay for a panni if it fits their criteria. My insurance would only pay for my panni.  I paid for the upper part of my TT (anchor cut add on), lipo, breast lift and implants.  A lot plastic surgeons accept Care Credit or a health care credit card.  You can apply in a few minutes online or call.  They will tell you how much credit they will give you.  The interest rate is reasonable and you can pay up to 5 yrs.  That is what I did for $8400 of my surgeon's fee/$240/mo.  My surgeon gave me a 20% discount for being a nurse.  My panni was $4500 and my insurance is to pay for that.  My surgery was outpatient and the fees for that was $3700. I used a credit card for this.  This was much cheaper than being hospitalized.  You could split up your surgeries.  Good luck.

I waited to have my surgery until I was in a place to pay for it.

I just made up my mind to get it done, got consults, and started saving. I am also only doing one procedure at a time (yr apart) to pay for it out of pocket.

Some people do credit, but I wanted the piece of mind of not worrying about an extra bill.

My next procedure will be next yr.

The PS who works w/the surgeon who did my WLS advised people who may want plastics to start early making a "paper trail". He said to go to the doctor, dermatologist and chiropractor for rashes and pain during the first year post-op. He said insurance companies won't pay unless surgery is the last option to fix the problem. Compared to the price of PS it may be worth it to go to the chiropractor for a year.

A woman at the meeting told everyone, "If you don't have rashes, leave some nair on for a long period of time. It will make the skin red and rash like."  Not sure about that advice, but....

Thanks everyone, I am not gonna lie I cried...then got pissed!! I mean when ya come this far and ya never want to go back where you were before!!!!!! I have been seeing a Chiro and have went once or twice for skin fold issue, but now I will be going every week to the Chiro and I will be at my PCP every other week LOL..to document skin rash etc!! Guess I will spend most of fall and winter doing that and then try again & submit in January for panni and breast reduction. I planned on paying out of pocket to do and extended TT and adding implants..so I am saving for that too!
