I am 5 weeks post op today! I am a preschool teacher, and today I went back to work. This week we are getting our rooms ready (yr. round school for a hospital, only time we close are for  Easter & New years, Thanks Giving & Christmas. And we work at the hospital during hurricanes).

Like I said this week we are getting our rooms ready for next week. But because I was concerned about getting back  and not knowing what my condition would be, I did alot of pre setting up of my room (inspite of our summer program).  I had all my weekly folders ready to go, and even was privledged to my class list list before I had my PS so I was able to meet and get their pictures taken. I am sooooooo glad I did all that work ahead of time!

TODAY was a WALK IN THE PARK! I didn't have any stress or strain! Tired? Surprizingly I feel fine, even went on a 3 mile walk on my break! Now, tomorrow I may feel differently, but all went well today.

I had one of my grandparents ASK ME "WHAT DID YOU DO, YOU LOOK great!" . "Did you loose weight?" It was kinda fun. I didn't tell her, but I will eventually, her grandson is moving up to my room this fall.Any way,  So when I got home I told my daughther  what happened and I asked her, if it was obvious. She said "yes", because before when I would stand sideways you could see the lower stomach protruding. WOW, and I thought I was hiding it so well.

My other co-workers knew, and I shared my before pictures witht them. They were shocked that  that was how I looked underneath my clothes. Some (1 or 2) initially thought I was doing this for vainity because of my WLS. But after they saw the pictures everyone all said the same thing "I couldn't even imagine that you looked like that.".  It was sobering, even for me.

So how was your day????????

So glad you had a good day, Carmen!! Today was our first day back to school for us teachers. It's been 7 weeks since my surgery. I'm so thankful I had 7 weeks to recover. It was great seeing all my friends, but today was tough.

First of all I had to wear "fat pants" I had in the back of my closet since I am still one inch bigger than pre-op. I did get compliments from my friends who know about my surgery, which was nice. Obviously if I am wearing bigger clothes, I look worse right now. Also, in shapewear, I did not have a protruding belly pre-op, so people did not think I needed surgery, either. I am not expecting my students to notice any difference (I am teaching the kids who failed Algebra I last year, so some of my kids I will have for the 3rd year in a row- 8th grade, 9th grade, and now 10th grade). Kids start next week.

The rest of the week we are in inservice so at least I can ease back into the swing of things. Today was too much sitting in boring meetings. I am tired and swollen up like a balloon right now. Bleh!!

I am a teacher/consultant and had my BL and scar revision two weeks ago tomorrow.  I went back to "work" (doing teacher PD) last thursday!

I was pretty tired without my afternoon nap.  It was hard to remember not to lift anything.  Each evening my breasts are kind of "achy" from standing and moving around all day.  But otherwise it was pretty easy to return.

I'm off thursday friday and then the next two weeks is just preperation of my classroom...so it shouldn't be too hard.  I'll need to drag my husband with me to do all the lifting!

I'm not quite 3 weeks out and don't officially start until Wednesday, BUT I was terrified about going to work and being totally overwhelmed. So I went in to work yesterday (Sunday) and had friends help me get things unboxed and cleaned.  I only worked for a few hours and tool a long nap yesterday.  Then I went in for a few hours today to continue working.  The unfortunate part is that when we go back on Thursday I will be responsible for leading some of thos boring meetings so I need to be ready early!

I have been able to take an afternoon nap and apparently need it!  I have developed some INTENSE bleeding (will start a new post to ask you all for advice in a minute), which has made the last few days very interesting.

I am 3 weeks out as of yesterday.. Which was our first day back to school as well...  I am stubborn and probably did a bit more moving then I should of but I didn't feel the strain either.  I  also made a trip to the gym afterwards and got a mile in it was slow but i got it in none the less and got to spend some time in the Sauna!! Which I loved!!!  By the time I made dinner for the kids and checked my facebook account I fell asleep texting to a friend seriously computer in my lap and everything!!!  Up this morning again but am going to go to the gym today too. I want to be back into a routine asap..  I haven't had any issues with wound/scars with the exception of being uncomfortable in the binder .. It tends to bend in the wrong areas and tends to hurt....  But other than that all is well here...
