how much help will I need?

I'm starting to get all my proverbial ducks in a row for my PS.  I'm planning my first round in November.  I have a 6 year old and my husband is able to take off 2 weeks to help during my recovery.  Am I going to be able to do things like get my son on/off the school bus by the end of 2 weeks?  Also. I'm planning on having a lower face lift at this time (got to get rid of this turkey gobbler before thanksgiving) will I still be really visibly bruised at this point?  I've read all of your blogs and posts and appreciate all the information you have to share.  Thanks!

I've had a number of procedures and after 2 weeks would have been fine getting a child ready for school.  I had a full face lift, lower eye, and neck lift  and was really swollen but had no bruising.  It took about two to three weeks for the majority of the swelling to go away.

Is face lift your only surgery?

I had a fleur de lis tummy tuck & brachioplasty and I needed help for 10 days.  I couldn't lift over 5# for first month andd 8# for second month.  I'm 11 weeks post op and still not 100%.

I can't speak to the face lift as I haven't had one.

Please post what kind of surgery (and the type of incision they will do) if you are having more than face lift.  There are many different incisions and that does affect amount of pain, discomfort and recuperation.

Best wishes.

Planning on the lower face lift, BL/BA, tummy tuck(most likely fleur de lis) in Nov. then in Jan or Feb go back for arms and lower body lift with possible butt augmentation (haven't made my mind up about that one) and possbly my thighs at the same time.  Ultimatley the final decision on the grouping of surgeries will be up to my surgeon.  But if it can be lifted, tucked, sucked or augmented, I'm in!  I HATE looking at my naked self in the mirror right now.

You have no idea how much I have learned from all of your journey's and how much I appreciate your honesty and candor!

I had a full TT (fleur de lis) and brachio in October and went back to work in 2.5 weeks.  I have a desk job.  I only had my husband home with me for about 4-5 days after surgery - and not all day ...he took off work, but did errands, and went out etc....but was home to help me with showering, clean up, make meals.

I was able to look after pretty much everything about the house (and my son) by 5 days...except any lifting.  I was mostly off pain meds too - so I felt responsible enough to be home and caring for kids!  My son is 10 though..and not too hard to look after!  I just had to be ready to move very sllloooowwwlllyyy....
