For those of you behind me, just wanted to let you know it does get better!! I know we are all different, but I am a numbers gal and I know hearing others numbers always helped me feel better. My swelling worried me the most (was worried I'd end up BIGGER), but it is actually getting better:

Pre-Op: 27" waist
Post-Op: 31" waist (+4)
Week 2-6: 29" waist (+2)
Week 7: 28" waist (+1)

I'm going back to work today, so I expect the swelling to get worse, but I'll get through it!!

Its nice to hear. I am 17 days out and I am swelling later in the day and its good to know that it does get better.  All in all its going well , I am calling the doctor today because I have one little area that needs to be looked at. I still have one drain that still putting out so I know thats not ready yet.  Last night I finally got the best nights sleep so I think that helps.  I am still getting tired , honestly I have not had much pain, but I am looking forward to feeling like myself. I think I feel comfortable enough to start driving locally this week. I am not a great at home person so I have been feeling sorry for myself.

Awwwwww.... it does get better, I promise!! This is the first week I feel pretty much back to "normal". I'm not a good stay-at-home person, either, so my recovery was rougher mentally than physically.

I'm glad you are doing well. Hang in there!

Good for you!

I have no idea what my measurements were pre-op, so I have nothing to compare to.  There are days where I look a bit pregnant at the end, but I hear that can happen for a long time.

Hey Laura
Congrats on getting back to work.

I am 3 weeks out and I am amazed how much swelling stay around especially towards the evening.

Someone on here told me not to even go shopping for 3-4 months cause the swelling keeps your size fluctuating alot over that time.   I was worried cause I wear the same cloths as I did Pre-op but they fit way better.  He removed almost 15 pounds off the front of me you would think I would have dropped a size or two but not at this time.

Thanks for letting us know it gets better.  I just can't believe you are still swollen.

Laura - thanks for sharing your numbers!  You are so right about the swelling - it comes and goes and eventually will hopefully go pretty much away!

Hope your first day back at work went well!

Just fantastic!!

I'm gonna get some pics (ugh) and measurements before Monday.

Cuz I know I'll be here griping about swelling and lack of progress...

so you guys can direct me back to the "Before" numbers for some perspective!!
