Makes me kind of nervous reading about the "don't make it too big" thing! I just had mine revised because the scar around it was like a bulls-eye - too far from the edge. It finally is near the edge and not so weird looking. But it will kind of "pop" out when I swell or move my belly a certain way. But whatever - I'll take it!

I know this is a really old thread......Was wondering if you ever tried this? Or did your belly button end up turning out ok, if so how long did it take? I had the fleur de lis tummy tuck 9/11/13 and it turned out beautifully, but my belly button looks horrible. It's kind of like a half outie slit. I know I'm early out, and I am hoping that it sinks in and turns out round.
I asked my surgeon what he thought and he did not think it would help, but humored me and said I could try it. I did tape a marble in there for a while. Probably a month or so. I love my belly button. It was probably more surgeon skill that caused my belly button to round out than my marble trick, but who knows.
Here is a before/after of my belly button. I am almost 2.5 years out now:
