Well - people stretch out their skin with earings, or with implants for skin grafts etc....so I'd think you could stretch it out this way.

Makes me kind of nervous reading about the "don't make it too big" thing!  I just had mine revised because the scar around it was like a bulls-eye - too far from the edge.  It finally is near the edge and not so weird looking.  But it will kind of "pop" out when I swell or move my belly a certain way.  But whatever - I'll take it!

I want to get mine pierced later on!  Anyone up for that?  Come on girls......get sassy!   Even if you don't plan on showing it to anyone but yourself and your husband!

I know this is a really old thread......Was wondering if you ever tried this?  Or did your belly button end up turning out ok, if so how long did it take?  I had the fleur de lis tummy tuck 9/11/13 and it turned out beautifully, but my belly button looks horrible.  It's kind of like a half outie slit.  I know I'm early out, and I am hoping that it sinks in and turns out round.

I asked my surgeon what he thought and he did not think it would help, but humored me and said I could try it. I did tape a marble in there for a while. Probably a month or so. I love my belly button. It was probably more surgeon skill that caused my belly button to round out than my marble trick, but who knows.

Here is a before/after of my belly button. I am almost 2.5 years out now:
