what is the difference..tummy tuck & LBL

Hi Everyone, I have a question about Tummy Tuck and LBL.  I asked for a LBL because I want my stomach done but also I need the hip area and the butt lift.  The doctor said he is doing the LBL that I will be cut from hip to hip area.  Isnt that just a tummy tuck?  I thought on a LBL they cut the whole way around.  I just want to make sure I am getting what I want and asked for.  Also, I am trying to get everything ready for Sept. 14...some suggestions to what you all needed and what helped.  I drive a 15 passenger school van for 9 hours with 2 half hour breaks.  How long do you think I'll be off?  My boss is really being a ***** about me getting surgery and missing work.  She is a b*tch and feels no one should miss a day at all.  My family and health come before this job so I don't have a problem giving up the job if it gets to messy with her but I really do enjoy my job but was wondering how long do you feel I would be off?  Thanks in advance.  You guys are awesome!

From hip to hip is a tummy tuck. LBL is all the way around. Are you sure about this doctor?? 

I'm 6.5 weeks out and even now would not be sure I could drive 9 hours a day. Do you have to get in and out of the van a lot or are you just driving? That would make a big difference. My surgeon wanted me to take 6 weeks off work.

A tummy tuck normally is just the stomach area.  I've heard there is something also called an "extended tummy tuck" where the incision goes a little farther to each hip.  A LBL incision goes all the way around your body - which would then include a lot more of the hip and butt area.

How long are you planning on taking off?

I would also have another consult with your ps and ask exactly what results you can expect with the surgery he is plannng on doing.

hip to hip cut is just a TT, a LBL goes all the way around, ask him to show u exactly where he is going to cut.
who is your PS? did u get a new one?

I had a full tummy tuck and it went a little past my hips. A LBL I thought went all around your entire body. Yea I would get another consult and express you are wanting your butt lifted too.
