i saw him today and it wasnt pleasant. first he told me that it is completely normal for my waist to be more than 4 inches bigger than it was preop. he said that i am " healing much better than i expected you to!".  he told me that my muscle problem "cant" have anything to do with the panniculectomy cause he didnt do anything to the muscles and that he will not prescribe any more pain medicine or any muscle relaxers. he told me to follow up with him in 4 months. thank god i have an appt tomorrow with my pcp.

WOW... I'm so sorry your going through this his bed side manner doesn't sound the best. I'm glad you have a appointment with your primary tomorrow as well.

Looking back at your old posts, you were asking people's opinion on whether to chose a local plastic surgeon or chosing one an hour and a half away with experience with patients who have had massive weight loss. Which one did you chose?

My waist was 4 inches bigger the week of surgery, but now it's down to 2 inches bigger. Still swollen, but finally able to get into my pre-op clothes again (I'm 6.5 weeks out from my lbl/bl now).

I'm sorry you're still in so much pain. I hope your pcp can provide some relief.

Wow I am sorry you have to go through this.  My waist is bigger too but I do understand that swelling does not go away for months do to new circulation developing with the removal and movement of the tummy skin.

I have one side swollen more than the other and it makes me a little lop sided but each day it all looks different.

My PS is awesome and bends over backwards to make sure I am comfortable.  He just gave me thrid script for pain meds so if I need them (like today after a sneezing attack) I have them on hand.  I don't need them often but if I move around alot I need something especially at night so I can get more comfortable to sleep.

I hope your PCP can give you something.
