Are we ever satisfied?

I also started with my arms because they bothered me the most.  My insurance would pay for a TT so then I did that.  My thighs rubbed so I decided to do that next and I knew my surgeon's specialty was breast reconstruction so I decided to do a lift at the same time.  All of those surgeries were classified as necessary so I was able to take time off from work and write the ones I paid for off on my taxes.  Well then I decided I wanted to remove the HUGE bags under my eyes and all the extra skin on my neck, so when I went to see the surgeon I asked him if I should go ahead and do a facelift and he just said it was up to me.  I renovated hotels for a living and told him when we only do some work what we don't do looks even worse and he smiled - I had a full facelift along with the eye and neck lifts   I have a lipo procedure scheduled which I should have recovered from - just in time for my 60th birthday.  And then I finished - I think.

Gail - this is such a great question!  I'm like one of the other replies that it took me a long time to lose the weight and an even longer time to save up money to try to repair the damage that I had done to my body by gaining the weight.

My arms are ok, and I've never had big "girls" even when at my highest weight.  So, those two areas aren't a concern for me.  Being pear shaped to the extreme and then all the loose skin in that area is what made me choose to have ps.  When I walk - my excess skin moves in all different directions.  I live in a part of the country where 100+ temps and high humidity describes our summers.  Wearing Spanx-type garments in that kind of weather for the past five years has been misterable.  When I go to the gym I wear men's basketball shorts to try to hide the loose skin.  For me, it is more of a quality of life thing, not a clothes size or number on the scale.

Even if I won the lottery I probably wouldn't have anything else fixed, but would love a weekly massage!!!

I had my arms done on the 7th of July and abdominoplasty, Inner thigh lift and outer thigh lipo on the 27th of July.  I will have more outer thigh lipo and butt and thigh lift on Dec. 15th.  At the moment I obviously still ahve swelling, but I wish my eyes and mind could catch up with the PS and weight loss.  I have to keep looking at old pictures and new ones in order to try to get a good image.

I was just wondering this the other day...will I ever be happy?  I truly hope that the surgery in Dec. I am done!  The only thing left for me would be BA, but I think I am a okay in that avenue.  Maybe we will wait and see what the man I will one day marry will think about it. (I believe he is out there somewhere I just haven't met him yet! :-)

Amy, what you said about the man you will marry.... First of all he is out there! I believe there is someone for everyone. Second, he won't have an opinion on what PS you should have. I met my current bf post-WLS so he doesn't even know how big I was, but he has seen the skin. He doesn't think I need more PS. The thing is, we have to do what's right for us. I have to be happy and proud of this body for once in my life.

I agree with Gail! Amy, you will find him!! My boyfriend met me in college when I was thin, fell in love with me when I was big, so he's loved me small, big, small with floppy skin, and he loves me now with scars. None of it matters to him. He is wonderful. He also did not want me to have my lbl/bl, but he knew I needed to do it for me. He also does not want me to have anything else done, but I do plan on getting small implants in the future, then that is it!! My thighs will stay jiggly.

I had my TT and was happy... my legs still looked like shar peis, but in clothes they looked great.  Then I had a revision to my TT scar and the first thing I consciously thought of when I came out of anesthesia was "no more surgeries"... then just 2 months later I was having a BL/BA - LOL...

THEN I said no more surgeries... well... I've put 10 lbs on since my BL/BA (only 7 months ago - bad bad me), and the legs have filled in some.  But, they are still cottage cheesy... KWIM?

Maybe if I lose these 10 lbs again and my legs go back to shar-pei status I'll consider it.
