I don't have a recliner for post LBL/TT - recommendations?
A cheap wedge pillow works great, too. Be sure to have something for under your butt because you will be on your back for a while - I almost got bed sores being on my butt for 2 weeks or so.

My surgery is coming up soon.
Don't know how things are in your area. I contacted all home health/med supply places in our area. Only one did lift chair rentals. The others only do sales.
Anyway, the quote was 300 a month.

I had an LBL with BL (no aug) three weeks ago and i am still sleeping in my recliner. My stomach muscles are still super tight and i cant lay flat on my back or stomach. Plus im a side ONLY sleeper - curled up in fetal ball! LoL
I still cant get comphy on my sides enough to get settled enough to stay asleep, so i just stany in the recliner. Its micro suade and super duper comphy and we picked it up before my RNY for a couple hundred bucks at Big Lots.
Funny thing was i never used it after my RNY, but would be lost and miserable after this surgery. Ask friends - offer to split cost with someone else that can use it after your done, etc., look at thrift/discount stores for something affordable.
Best of luck!
Melinda

Thanks Melinda! I'm in denial b/c I don't want to think about sleeping in a chair during vacay lol - I didn't need one after RNY either but am also a side sleeper so a trip to Big Lots might be in order... I guess they have to be the gigantic but super comfy ones. I always kind of wanted a comfy recliner but have nowhere to put it unless I get rid of maybe another more decorative chair that looks good but serves more as a place for folded laundry.
How are you doing in your recovery and how are you feeling???? Are you up and about? Driving?

Hi I will be 4 weeks out tomorrow and I am still on the percocet 2-3 times (when I wake up and before I go to bed) and occassionally one mid-day.. But the only discomfort is from where they attached my breast tissue to my ribs for my breast lift.
Other than that - everything else is good. I was cleared to drive at 2 weeks.. until I told him I drove a 2010 Camaro. He said it would be too low for me to get in and out of, and if I drove to use my hubbys truck LOL Luckily hubby was off for 3 weeks with me, so I just let him chauffer until this past weekend.. I HAD to take my car out to a rally.. I missed driving her sooo much! LoL
I also started sleeping in the bed this weekend... But even at 4 weeks I have to prop up with pillows behind my head and under my knees. I'm still kinda tight in the abdomen and don't like laying flat.. and the incisions on my hips get uncomfortable if I lay on them.. So I am in the bed - but still almost as propped as I was in the recliner LOL

I don't have a recliner or a wedge pillow and I made it out just fine.
During the day, I just sat in a regular chair with my feet propped up on a dining chair to elevate them.
At night, I just piled up pillows and put a couple under my knees/feet to elevate them as well.
I napped in my chair and slept ok at night with the piled up pillows. I really don't think a recliner or anything would have helped at all with comfort. It's just an uncomfortable surgery no matter what, I think.
