Panni v. Abdmino and public lift
I have a consult on 8/26 to discuss a panniculectomy with a public lift. My pubic area is very flabby and I get rashes in this area along with under my panni. I was looking around the net and I found old (2003-2004) bcbstx (my insurer) guidelines that used the work abdominoplasty, but stated that would not pay for rebuilding is muscles unless patient had a hernia - which I do not.
So what I am wondering is - is is possible to get a TT without the muscle tightening and still have it be called abdominoplasty or would that still be the panniculectomy? I want the above the belly button portion of my tummy done too - but im fine if they don't do the muscles.
Also has anyone had insurace pay for a pubic lift for rashes?

Aetna uses the term "abdominoplasty" as well, but they actually only cover panniculectomy (unless there is a hernia issue, I believe).
Most surgeons will work with you if you want to get the full TT.....they will just bill you the difference in cost so you're paying less since insurance is already covering a good chunk of the surgery, OR time, anesthesia, etc.

Don't know about insurance. But, I had a Lower Body Lift, Dr. found that he did not need to tighten my muscles! I guess I salvage them with time spent with my trainer.
