"Revision" 8/26

I don't know if it really qualifies to be called a revision, but I'm having some additional tissue removed from my upper stomach, in the doctor's office, on 8/26.  It sounds pretty easy.  I can eat / drink / etc that morning.  I do have to stop taking NSAID's and all that two weeks prior.  I'll be awake but locally numbed.  They say to bring an iPod or something to distract me.  I've been awake for c-sections and felt hands deep inside of me.  I'm sure this should be easy compared to that!

I just cannot believe no one HERE has heard of this 'recruitment' phenomenon.  I asked my nurse / doctor about it again and they explained they see it most frequently in people that have lost a lost of weight.  The body 'recruits' tissue back to the area of the incision.  I'm not really satisfied with the answer but I'm also not satisfied with my upper stomach.  So regardless of what it's called or why it happened, I'm getting it fixed.  And they said it doesn't usually happen a second time.

I'll post my three month pictures soon, then my 'revision' pics after 8/26.  I'll keep you all posted!

Hi Jt,
That is amazing that we haven't heard about "recruitment" around here. Interesting for sure.
Will this procedure require you to need time off from work? Do you have to pay for this procedure?

Laina - I haven't heard of "recruitment" but my upper thighs (saddlebags) were back 14 days after surgery.  Like I never had an LBL.  Wednesday I go back for my last post-op visit from surgery on June 21.  We will again talk about what can be done (again) to address this.  I sure hope you get a better outcome with your next procedure.  I haven't told my family yet that I'm looking at more "work" as I'm sure it won't go over well.  But like you said you're not really satisfied and you're getting it fixed!!

Good Luck!

Thanks Gracie.  That does make me feel a little better, but I'm sorry for you!!!  My upper stomach is just as bad if not worse than before.  And it feels so gross hanging over everything since my lower stomach is gone, lol!

Thanks again, I'll keep you posted!
