Panniculectomy approved...

Just called my insurance to check and my panni removal WAS approved!!! However, the "assistant" was not - and the billing lady isnt in today - GRR.. anyone know around how much the assistant costs or if  that is just a precautionary charge "just in case " or.... I'm dying to know now lol

Congrats! I have never heard of the assistant thing, so can't help.. But wanted to say yay with you!

I'm so excited but I have NO idea about the cost of the assistant surgeon - and now im afraid i wont be able to do this because i have NO money to be spending on this - we're moving in a few weeks and getting married end of october - - lol

YAY!!!! Congrats,congrats,CONGRATS!!! I as well dont know about an assistant charge but I will say my TOTAL out of pocket is a grand total of $470 and some change. That was the remainder of my deductible and the 20% co-insurance. I totally know the feeling the approval gives you..once you set you date...your going to feel 10 times better and a PEACE will come over you like no other.

Congrats!

I asked about having an assistant (since I was looking at about 10hrs under) and I think they said it was going to be a couple of thousand extra.

I ended up not asking for it since he usually works solo anyways.

But prices vary from location to location - so you most likely just won't really know until you get back ahold of them tomorrow.. sorry

I had a surgical assistant with both my my c-sections at it cost me at about $230.00 each time after insurance. I think it was about 1600 before.

if thats all it ends up costing then im good - fiance said we can cash pay up to about 4-500 and still be okay :)  I think it's about 25% of w/e the surgeon charges...I get to find out tomorrow, the billing lady was not in office today.
