I have about four that has appear under my bandages from my drain tube that fell out but it's still draining so I was instructed to change bandages twice daily. I was itching really bad so i was rubbing and felt a lump of course i lifted the tape and noticed that i have a water blisters. Has this happen to anyone? I wonder if I'm allergic to the tape?, but I use this same bandages and tape on my arms and it hasn't been a problem. I do go back to see my surgeon on Tuesday and will pose the question to him , but I did have one when he changed my bandages last week he didn't mention it and neither did i since there is  more it has me wondering wth is going on.

I had a blister under a steri strip. it was clear then  became a blood blister. But Dr, was not concerned. Its all gone Nothing was ever done to it.

If you are allergic, I am sure there is something else they can use. I had itchiees all along, I expected to get the itchies, but 4 days out it was intolerable to the point of falling asleep due to exhaustion that lasted for several days. I had  tried Benadryl, and Cortizone cream, with out any luck. Dr. took me off my antibiotic , thought it could be that. I had 5 drains. Also thought that maybe I was having a reaction to the tubing from drains.  Immediately after he removed 2 of the drains the itching from those 2 areas disappated dramatically. But dr. did put me on a pill for the itchies! I only take when it becomes intolerable.

You can ask about the pill. While its expected to get the itchies, if it becomes anxiety riddled I'd ask about it.

I also had the blisters.. i thought it was an allergic reaction too so i went ahead an started taking Benadryl . I talked to the doc and she indicated it wasn't an allergy as much as her pulling the tape too tight that when my stomach began to swell the tape pulled on it causing the blister. It makes more sense as to why I didn't have blisters under all of the steri strips.
