venting about surgeon!!
first let me say that i understand i only had a panniculectomy and i never expected to have a "flat" stomach BUT at a month out i didnt expect my WAIST to still be 4 inches bigger than it was before plastics. i am still in quite a bit of pain. although i didnt have any muscle work done, it feels like my abdominal muscles cant "relax". i constantly feel like i have to pee even right after i go. i am still sleeping in my recliner because it hurts too bad to lay down flat and i cant lay on either side. when i stand up completely straight i have a small area at the top of both thighs that feels like it is going to tear. i called the surgeon early last week and he said that everything is probably fine and i just need to give it more time. but if the swelling continues to be bad that the only option is ANOTHER SURGERY?!?!?!? i have been making a lot of inquiries this week and cannot find a single plastic surgeon that will accept my insurance. i want to feel better and i dont know what to do. i have an appt with my ds surgeon in a couple of weeks and will definitely be asking for her opinion. i am not scheduled to see the plastic surgeon again till october..... thats right he saw me at a week out took out my drains and my staples and said he didnt want to see me for 3 MONTHS. i am trying very hard not to expect too much too fast but i am sooooo miserable!
I had a different procedure (fleur de lis abdominoplasty) but at 10 weeks out, I'm still swollen and understand that swelling can be common up to a year. My belly feels really "tight" and "achy". I had weight restrictions: 5 # for first month and then 8# for 2nd month. I still can't lift like I did before surgery. Pushing a grocery cart makes my belly sore!
I also had brachioplasty and reaching up really stretches my incisions.
I think it just takes time. Be patient. I'd call plastic surgeon and tell them you want an appointment to be seen.
Maybe some who had pannulectomy will be able to help you more. Best wishes.

I'm only two weeks out and i feel your frustration i had a full TT and I did expect to be flat when I came out and I'm not. I did have alot of skin to be removed 8lbs and on my first post op visit i said "doc i think your going to have to do this over.."I was serious" , but he said I'm still swollen and it can take several months start putting ice on the area and i can get a visual of what he meant. So I took two frozen bottles of water but them in my binder and slept all night that next morning my tummy was so flat i started to cry (because i was so happy). Give it time ...
I think the urine urgency is from the catheter that was used during your surgery. Alot of women get bad bladder infections from catheters speak with your primary doctor about that.
Did you speak with the PS about you feeling your muscle want "relax" I'm sure he/she will give you muscle relaxers. Feel Better and see your PCP I'm sure they can help as well. Good Luck and sending you some positive energy your way.
