**OH family,

Everyone online has been so helpful with advice and information that I feel its only right to inform everyone of how my recovery is going. Im 4 days post panni(might as well have been a TT--got new belly button and all) and I must say im doing pretty good. Pain meds are keeping me covered for the most part unless I do to much then it takes a little while longer for them to work. My eating habits are ok, sleeping is off track because I wake up to the pain along the incision line when it time for meds throughout the night. Im able to walk up and down the stairs to the kitchen or just around the house...might be doing that to much though. My family is very helpful but I skip out on the help sometimes because I feel like I should be able to do for me. My goal this week is to really rest and take advantage of help that is being offered. My post-op appt is Friday and I sure hope the drains will be coming out that day. They dont really bother me but they are just kinda in the way. The SWELLING is weird...one day its little to none..then a day like today..Ive felt like a ballon all day. Now my focus is on healing and reaching my FINAL GOAL of 156. I started this journey at 292, lost 107 through diet, exercise and LIFE...day of panni I weighed 185.6..so now I'm in the closing laps of this race and I KNOW I will FINISH. Hope I can be of any help to someone who may be considering or just had a panni or even TT. Feel free to ask questions or leave comments. Thanks again for the support, it means alot!! Remember: PURPOSE over Process and "YOU are the only person that can stop YOU!" Be Blessed

Love,

You look great! We have similar stories. I started at 268, and now i am 178. I have gotten as low as 165, but bounce around 175-178 on regular basis.

Anyway, your panny looks great! Looks like he flattened you out some, also. Do you mind sharing how you got insurance to pay? My panus is really not that bad, but I have about an inch or two hang over, no YI, so I doubt insurance would pay...but I'd love a flat tummy! I hate the thought of having to wait until after children to achieve a flat tummy lol.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR KIND WORDS!!
In regards to the insurance..Aetna covered my panni and it took about 7 days to approve. On my 1st consult with Dr.Capehart we talked about what i wanted to acheive, she took pictures(front and side) to show how it hung and submitted the information that day. Because I had lost 100+ and had maintained it for a year and had skin rash/odor problems they approved. Its a matter of the pictures submitted and the way it hangs as well as what the dr writes up. I was blessed to have a doctor that understood that it would be better to go ahead and replace my belly button now instead of having to do another surgery later since I wasnt getting a full TT. I also wanted a flat tummy b4 having kids being that this is the 1st time in YEARS it has been this way. Hope the info helped and thanks again all!!

See, I get none of the rashes, odors and mine doesn't hang that low--boo!

I had a consult for a full TT and doc said I would need no muscle repair, but the cost was still for a full TT. I've decided to wait until children or age 33. Lol. I'm 29 now, so I have four yrs to meet a man, get married and have children....or if that doesn't happen, I will get a TT

Aww...sorry to hear that. I didnt have a TT, didnt really care about the muscle repair(hadnt had them for 25 years..didnt need them now) but I do work out and once Im clear to workout again..my trainer is going to work me OUT. You have a plan so you can stick to it or maybe try some extra sit-ups here and there. It will work it self out.
